Life story

Virginia (or more commonly called "Jen" or "Jenny") was the 4th of five children born to William Thomas (W.T.) and Inez Shelton of Skyline, Alabama. Her siblings include the late Billy Jack Shelton, Juanita Killingsworth, Betty Ikard, and C. L. Shelton.

Jen was like a mother and grandmother to all of her dozens of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She often spent time shopping with her sisters, going on trips with family, and for the longest time she was a super loving and caring mom to her poodle, Bambi.

Jen put the "fiesty" in fiesty redhead. She was fiercely loyal and loving, but she also had a strong will and temper. She was dependable and hard-working and faithfully lifted up the needs of others in prayer to the Lord. She used to keep her bathroom mirror lined in Post-It notes, each with a different person or situation in order to remember and pray for all of them each day.

Jen fought a 6 month battle with cancer until the Lord took her home. Since then, her family continues to mourn her loss and feel the hole she leaves behind in their lives and hearts.

Until we can all be together again forever, we have the hope that Jen fought a good fight and finished the race the Lord set before her, and that she now resides in heaven with him and our loved ones that have gone on before.
