Natasha Cosgrave
She lived and laughed and loved and left....
Natasha is the middle child in our family surrounded by her loving parents, her 5 brothers and three sisters, like all of us she loved telling people this.
She was born on the 22nd of December 1983, weighing only 2 pounds, since that day she has been fighting and up to her last moments with us she was fighting to live until she couldn’t fight no more and closed her eyes at 2 o clock on Monday the 29th May.
Natasha lived at home with her mam & dad and although it was not always easy it was where she felt her safest. She was mams trusty sidekick she pushed mam into learning to drive and this gave them both so much freedom and independence. They were always on the road together and she loved a good trip to the shops. The only place she was happy for mam to go without her was bingo.
Tash attended school in Lisnagry and went on to the training centre there which she loved so much, so much we thought she would never leave. But she eventually went onto the Garvey Center and made many friends there. Although she may not have always had the energy or sometimes the interest in being there but we know she was very well looked after and happy.
There are so many people who make up Natasha’s story - family members, co-workers, her friends, our friends, so many who cared for her and this all originated in her love, kindness and goodness to all of us. She loved to show everyone how much they meant to her, always thinking of whose birthday it was, who was due a baby, any event really or even just to let them know she had thought of them. There was so much goodness in her and while not with equal measure so much mischief but just enough to make sure she is so fondly remembered by us all.
Tash has many great memories throughout her life, one’s worth mentioning are attending the Olympics in Stockholm, going on the Cashel/Emily pilgrimage to Lourdes. Her 21st & 30th birthdays parties and she was busy planning a big party for her 40th.
Her biggest joy in life was being an auntie, she loved her nieces, nephews and most recently her gran-nephew so much! Every time any one of us told there was another one on the way she could not believe she was going to be an auntie, every time was like the first she was always so excited.
Her health was always a concern and she had many hospital trips. She hated the hospital but it was a high part of her life. She never complained or admitted how she must have been struggling, it never stopped her from enjoying herself.
