Life story

Taylor Ronald Griffin, age 27, son, brother, and friend, left his mortal existence on April 24th, 2023. He was born to Kimberly Phillips Griffin Wright and Ronald Griffin in Murray, Utah. Taylor, along with his siblings Austin, Jake, and Emmie, grew up in Spanish Fork and Pleasant Grove, Utah. Taylor welcomed Patrick Wright (bonus-dad), Saydi Wright (sister), Mady Griffin (sister-in-law), and Krystal Griffin (bonus-mom) into his family as well.

He found joy in all kinds of music, especially movie scores, like Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables. He was also a Star Wars superfan - so much so, he shed a few tears when he walked into Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland. Taylor was a true Disney fan and child at heart. He knew all the words to almost every Disney song, and he especially loved the Frozen soundtrack. He had a big imagination and enjoyed being creative. He loved making people laugh, and he had an infectious laugh himself.

Most of all, he loved his family deeply, both immediate and extended. Taylor also loved his dogs, Rex, Lexy, and Lucy.

Taylor graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 2013. He played the viola and enjoyed time spent working on school productions as a member of the stage crew.

In 2015, Taylor faithfully served a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh mission. His mission companions loved being with Taylor, and he shared his heart with those he served. Many of his very favorite friendships started with his mission companions.

Taylor held many jobs over the years and worked diligently to work his way up in the ranks. He was hard working and kind, and his co-workers enjoyed being around him. Taylor was a responsible manager and was a great example to his team. When he wasn't working or with family, he spent time playing video games with his best friends from all over the country. Those friendships were very important to Taylor.

Taylor always loved food and often talked about becoming a chef someday. He was proud of his White Chicken Chilli and enjoyed sharing it with others. Taylor loved late night trips to the gas station or Sonic for a snack and a drink, and he always seemed to have a stash of goodies nearby.

Taylor loved a good storm - rain, lightning, and thunder. Taylor's favorite time of year was fall, and his favorite holiday was Halloween. He went all out on his Halloween costumes - The Joker, Darth Maul and even the Berries & Cream Lad from the Starburst commercials. He would do his own makeup and hair, putting his heart and soul into whatever character he chose that year. He enjoyed going to haunted houses with his cousins and friends, and he absolutely loved sneaking up on people and spooking them.

He was the master of games. Some of his favorite games were Scum, Uno, Catan, Monopoly, Risk, and ping pong. Things often got rowdy during a card game, and Taylor loved it. He also enjoyed playing night games like Capture the Flag and Ghost in the Graveyard.

In the last few years, Taylor lived his most authentic life. He was happy living his truth, and he found great joy in connecting with others who knew him as he really wanted people to know him.

The mountains along the Wasatch front felt like home to him. He was a big softie and had a heart of gold. His family lovingly referred to him as "Tay" or "TayTay".

Taylor is survived by his loving parents Kimberly Wright (Patrick) and Ronald Griffin (Krystal); siblings Jake, Austin (Mady), Emmie, and Sadie Wright; grandparents Tim and Jackie Phillips. He is loved and missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and his dog Rex.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Lewis and Jean Griffin, and his uncle Richard Griffin.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 1, 2023 at 11:00 am in the Pleasant Grove 9th Ward Chapel (Grove Building), 455 East 200 South, Pleasant Grove. Family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:00 - 10:45 am prior to the services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery.
