Erma Winifred Watkins Lathrop

August 29, 1935 - August 16, 2023

Of Philadelphia passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at the age of 87.

Erma was born on August 29, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA to the late William Watkins and Ruth Watkins-Kerner (nee Proper). She was the oldest of two children, brother George Kerner (Ruth).

Erma was the beloved wife to the late Robert Wayne Lathrop. They were married on April 2, 1955 and were parents to nine children.

Erma is survived by her loving children William Lathrop (late Christine), James Lathrop (late Mary-Ann), Gerald Lathrop (Denise), Jeffrey Lathrop (Jeanne), Robert Lathrop, Darlene Lathrop Yassine Kamite, and Russell Lathrop. She was the loving Grandmom to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even great-grand dogs.

Erma is predeceased by her son John Lathrop and daughter Janette Lathrop Costanzo (Ray).

Erma loved spending time and holidays with her family, going to concerts and of course the casinos. She was a long-time worker of Macy’s department store (Strawbridge’s and Wanamaker’s). She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
