Mama speech

My Mama: Lynn, Lynnell, Mrs. B, Grandma. So many names, yet I only used one. *MAMA* I tried being professional at work and say Lynn, however she only answered to Mama so Mama and Brian it stuck, by then everyone started calling her Mama! It’s so hard to try and share a lifetime of memories in one dedication. Instead I’m immersed in being grateful for all the “firsts” in life she gave me. My first breath, my first kiss, first steps, first sister, first stepbrother, and first father figure Brian. The first look at what a blended family looks like. First time owning a family business and Brian being head coach. The first time I witnessed my mama with genuine love in her eyes as Brian proposed after dancing in our living room to “Amazed” by Lonestar. Not saying every day were roses. Raising 3 kids within 14 months of each other was no easy task. Brian used to have hair, and we see how that turned out for him! Maybe it was genetics, maybe the Nair prank, but I will never tell! I did give Mama and Brian a first of my own. I’m the youngest by 2 months, and was so nervous to tell them I was pregnant! I told them I wanted to talk,”in person” Y’all: Mama knew instantly and hung up on me! We met up at home, laughed, cried, and celebrated about the news of Wyatt. Mama talked to Wyatt in my belly, and gave the absolute best “belly rubs” when I was exhausted at work. The BEST gift she gave me is giving Wyatt her gorgeous blue eyes. (Even though it looked like I stole him from a shopping Cart) There are so many life lessons carried on from her. Her work ethic, being so proud of our accomplishments with hard work. Never quit a sport (mid-season) A job (without 2 weeks) And never back out after you gave your word on something. I love that “Family” doesn’t always mean blood. Being present in our life and a constant love for Mama and us is all we needed. She also taught us life lessons from the water! Tubing, losing your shorts, or slamming face first into the water. They may be painful and slightly embarrassing but the ride along the way is worth it, even if we know the inevitable outcome. The memories last into adulthood , and something that we cherish. Mama taught us the importance of hearing NO & GO!! On the rope swing timing of letting go of the rope. Healing broken ribs were also quite the process for Grandpa sadly! Mama loved the views at the flag pole and it’s the best spot overlooking our neighborhood and stargazing. She loved the wings, finding adventure, and having the family together. This was her “Happy Place.” There is so much of her here. I fell in love with it too. I am lucky to live next door right beside my parents, and share all of this, and the moments that we experienced together. To my Mama: I will miss you. I will miss your smile, your laugh, our conversations, and your “I love yous’” I will miss your silly way you dance (I have one too) and ultimately the purest love imaginable from you being my mama. We all have you still, just from afar. Watch over us and the littles, we got each other down here. Until I see you on the other side, I love you to the moon and back. Love your favorite ( hacked Facebook said so!) Amy Mama said F off Jimmy 💁🏻‍♀️ with love of course!
