A tribute from Agnes and Kris…

It's evident that Jon was a family man, even before the birth of his proudest achievement, we would joke of what kind of overprotective Dads we would be. We shared a mutual love of cakes and biscuits, so his being Polish's (Charlotte's) chief baking tester, was no doubt the highest honour a husband could have. Reserved, calm and generous with the tea, he always kept a witty come-back in the chamber. We were blessed to have known and spent wonderful times together.

Jon, a good friend

I knew Jon for such a brief time, but we got on well. I recall meeting in London one day and we walked and talked and ate together and it was a really good day. He was a humble man who didn't find socialising naturally easy, but he worked hard at it, which caused me to like him more. His wedding day was a very special occasion and he and Charlotte seemed well-suited. He enjoyed watching Brentford with his in-laws but his real passion was Leeds United, the times when I visited and they were on the Tele, Jon was very anxious and distraught if they lost. However, this didn't finish his appreciation of his guests and his hosting skills particularly on the cooking front!
