memory tribute bonnita-eyvonne-bale
In loving memory of

Bonnita Eyvonne Bale

Lifetime: Aug 09, 1950 - Jul 03, 2022

Proverbs 31:10-31 10 [a]A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. 11 Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12 She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She selects wool and flax and works with eager hands. 14 She is like the merchant ships, bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up while it is still night; she provides food for her family and portions for her female servants. 16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she plants a vineyard. 17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are strong for her tasks. 18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and her lamp does not go out at night. 19 In her hand she holds the distaff and grasps the spindle with her fingers. 20 She opens her arms to the poor and extends her hands to the needy. 21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. 22 She makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. 23 Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. 25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. 26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. 27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. 31 Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

Bonnita Bale, our precious Mom/Nanny/"Nita", age 71, walked through the gates of heaven on Sunday, July 3, 2022. She was surrounded by her loving family and held in her husbands arms in their Robert Lee, Texas home. She left this life a true hero, fighting so hard, never complaining, and always feeling "pretty good",

Mom was born August 9, 1950 in Anson, Texas, she began her education in Aspermont and eventually moved with her family to Wink where she met the love of her life. She and Charles "Buddy" Bale, Jr. were married on July 16, 1966 at the Wink Assembly of God and began a life together of overcoming adversity, loving unconditionally, and leaving a legacy of five daughters, five grandsons, five granddaughters, five great-grandsons, and five great-granddaughters.

She was a stay-at-home Mom, caring for her girls while also taking on roles in the Wink Volunteer Fire Departments Ladies Auxiliary, serving as 4H leader, elementary school room mother, camp counselor, lifeguard, and even neighborhood photographer leaving behind many memories to cherish. She decided in her 40s that her lifes calling was to be a nurse so she embarked on her journey at Howard College in Big Spring, and graduated as a Registered Nurse (R.N.) in 1994. Throughout her thirty year nursing career, she touched so many people with her gentle spirit, her kindness, her genuine heart, and her strong faith in God as she cared for those who needed it most. This included Reagan Memorial Hospital in Big Lake, Scottish Rite Childrens Hospital in Dallas, serving our veterans at Big Spring VA Medical Center, Instructing students for the LVN Program at Odessa College, working on the medical floor of Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, and finally ending her career as a Wesley Nurse for the Methodist Healthcare Ministries of South Texas where she felt so blessed to be able to integrate her faith with clinical expertise.

She accepted Christ at an early age and, no matter where life took her, she always established membership in her local Assembly of God churches and proved to be a true servant for Jesus filling whatever roles they needed her: her beautiful voice leading song service, singing worship specials, sharing her wisdom as a teacher in Sunday school, organizing special events, praying for those in need, driving the church van, and before she became too weak, learning to play the piano so she could fill a need with her hands, even if she could no longer use her sweet voice.

Mom began every morning with Bible study and prayer, her other hobbies included swimming and lake time, sewing, reading, singing and songwriting, listening to southern gospel music, photography, and travelling with Dad (once he convinced her they should go). She followed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren to many extracurricular activities, spending days and weekends watching them play every sport from childhood through college years, endearing herself to everyone who had the chance to know her. She was the Proverbs 31 woman in every way and we feel so blessed that God chose her to be ours.

Bonnita is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Buddy, her daughters Gina and Brad Horton of Andrews, Tina and Shawn Hill of Big Spring, Dina Bale of Robert Lee, Kina and Clint Reed of Stephenville, and Rina and Heath Henderson of Comanche, ten grandchildren Miranda (Justin) Barnes, Jeremy Chaney, Zach Chaney (Isabelle), Mikael Hill (Andrea), Ambra Hill (Ciara), Hunter Hill (Val), Charlsi Rivero (Dameon), Christina Rivero (Hunter R.), Lili Rodriguez (Payton), and Dylan Rodriguez (Raven), and ten great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Bryleigh, Haylee, Lydia, Travis, Dorian, Eastin, MJ, Liam, and Alexander.. She was preceded in death by her parents J.W. and Bonnie Neatherlin, in-laws Charles Sr. and Opal Bale, brothers Jerry, Tex, and Leon, special niece and nephew Cindy and Jessie, and grandson Travis. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. at Shaffer Funeral Home in Robert Lee, Texas. Services are scheduled at Victory Assembly of God in Robert Lee, Texas on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Rocky Youngblood presiding under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home, graveside services to immediately follow in the Robert Lee Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and son-in-law Clint Reed and honorary pallbearers are Justin, Dameon, and Hunter R. Special thanks to Dr. Cummings at Shannon Oncology, West Texas Rehab Hospice of San Angelo, her nurses Debbie, Brittany, and Laura, to our Dad who has served as her relentless caregiver the past four years letting her know how truly treasured she was and, lastly, to our sweet Dina who was her full-time caregiver these last two months and provided impeccable care for her in every way, we will never be able to thank you enough sister.
