Ashlee Michelle Tindal
"When someone you love becomes a memory, the memory becomes a treasure."
Ashlee Michelle Tindal was born on October 1st, 1991. As the first grandchild of the family, she was showered with love, her short ringlets and infectious smile becoming a source of boundless joy for the entire family.
Ashlee had a deep appreciation for life's simple things. She loved music, video games, and moments spent with friends. Above all, she had a profound love for the Legend of Zelda series, Roseanne, and horror movies.
Ashlee's unwavering strength and courage shone brightly during her three-year battle with cancer. In December 2012, faced with difficult news, she expressed her gratitude for life with incredible grace and wisdom. In her post, she wrote:
"Two years ago this same time of year, I never thought I'd have cancer. And I most definitely did not think I'd have it appear again, but worse. But as I'm laying in this hospital I've been in for two weeks, almost incapable of using my own legs, I feel overwhelmed by how grateful I am for my life. I joke with my friends about how bad my luck is having had cancer twice, but now I am starting to believe it led me to feel things I never thought I would before. I know now what it means to never take anything for granted and it's true that when you are being told your life can be taken, you notice the little things and I do now. I'm happy I feel such compassion in my heart when in reality I should be angry at what I'm going through. Sometimes it is hard to feel like a human being when you're in this position, but I've never felt quite so alive. To my family, friends, and boyfriend who I'm so thankful to for having patience with me, I love you guys more than words could ever amount to. You're my sole purpose of happiness."
Ashlee lived her life surrounded by love. Though the world feels emptier without her, the hope remains that by sharing her story, she will continue to live on in the hearts and memories of those who learn about the incredible spirit that she had.
