Marlene "Mar" Marie Adamek
Marlene “Mar” Marie Adamek, 53, of Jordan, passed away at her home Thursday, June 25, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mar was a generous, loving and caring person who always put others before herself. She enjoyed camping, shopping, making blankets, and playing games with friends and family. Mar loved collecting singing and dancing stuffed animals, which made lots of noise. She had a big heart and a ton of love for everyone she came in contact with. We have been fortunate to enjoy her wonderful smile, giving personality, and witty pranks for the short time she spent with us.
Mar was born Oct. 3, 1955 in New Prague. She married Kevin Adamek on Aug. 17, 1974 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Jordan. Mar was a member of the Jordan Fire Department Auxiliary and the Council of Catholic Women. She was a day care provider for 16 years. Mar and Kevin also owned and operated Napa Auto Parts in Jordan and Chaska for 10 years. Most recently Mar worked at Flagship Bank for the last 10 years as the head teller.
Mar will be loved and forever missed by her husband, Kevin; children, Chad (Amanda) Adamek of Jordan, Stacie (special friend Chris Theis) of Prior Lake, Cory Adamek of Jordan, Tyler Adamek of Jordan and Tanner Adamek of Jordan; grandchildren, Logan, Emma and Mason; special companion, her dog, Haley; brothers, Butch (Joann) Link of Jordan, Jim Link of Lester Prairie, Gerry Link of Jordan; nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Tillie Link, and brother, Dick Link.
Visitation was Monday, June 29, from 4-8 p.m. at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, Jordan, and also one hour prior to the service at church.
Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, June 30, at 11 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Jordan, with Father Timothy Yanta and Father Jim Perkl presiding. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Jordan.
