You were the strength in my family. (Written by Jeanie Smith- Bob's Daughter)

Dad, The one who always made me laugh, and made Steve’s family laugh you became such a close member their family. I will always remember the night before you left us you scooting fast to get the seat near the door in the lobby. We smiled, laughed and said I love you. We did our normal hug, our secret handshake and tugged the back of my hair saying thank you and I love you. Both in English and Serbian. We parted with loche noche Vuljama. You are my best friend and and amazing father that I am so blessed to have in my life . I have a trillion memories from when I was younger. Trips for skating -you being my #1 fan and coach. I remember Sundays you would bring the portable TV and sit up in the stands and watch the game as you coached me on my jumps spins and especially stage presence. Helping me pick out and sew my costumes and when I passed my figure skating test we would go for ice cream. That same evening you would sew my passing badge on my team jacket. You always rooted for me from the stands when I cheered and was dancing on the field as a Vinkingette to our many road trips playing Frank s and Kenny R in the car. We always looked forward to the warm weather so we could sit on the back deck or at my house you would bring your guitar and harmonica and you would strum the guitar talk about Uncle Alex playing the guitar and would sit with cold beers and listen to Jimmy Buffett songs. So blessed we got to go to Jimmy Buffett concert together. We tailgated and danced the night away at the show. Such Fun-times. All of the times I would race up to your house between meetings to cut your grass and just to take you out to Wendy’s and shoot the breeze and talk about the good old days of you growing up and you trips with Sam Y. I will miss you so much! You taught me how to be strong Even when life was tough. You showed us what it means to love Unconditionally and with all our heart. You were always there for me Whenever I need you And even though you’re gone I know you will always be with me. Thank you for everything, dad I love you and miss you so much. But I know that you're in a better place. I am at ease, every day I was with you when you moved to Concordia you would point up, pray and said please God take me I am ready to be with my brothers, sisters, mom, Dad and wife. The last moments we were together I will forever cherish cause I can feel you were ready and your last word were to me with the word “ I love you” and the. You left just like you wanted you did it your way dad! I love you And well see you again one day! Jeanie - October 29, 2022

Steven SmithThis was written by his daughter, Jeanie Smith following the passing of her father. Bob passed away at the Wexford Pavilion holding his daughter's hand. His last words "I love You" to Jeanie. It is amazing to know that he was with Jeanie was she was born and she was with him when he passed.
