Life story

Caroline Mary Park:

20, passed Tuesday, April 20, 2021; Caroline was a beloved daughter of Kelly (Weber) and Nathaniel Park; loving sister of Ellen Park; granddaughter of Jane and the late Norbert Weber, Margaret and the late Rolland Haun, and Helen and the late Rev. Howard Park; and a dear niece, cousin, and friend to many.

Caroline was diagnosed with Batten Disease in July 2013 but never lost her spirit or her ability to smile and laugh. She will be remembered as a person who overcame tremendous challenges and lived life to the fullest. Caroline was fun loving, curious, fearless, and kind. Her excitement was contagious as she participated in activities with local organizations, specifically: KEEN, TASK, Equine Assisted Therapy, Life Bridge Partnership, and St. Louis ARC.

Special thanks to her remarkable teachers and the wonderful staff at Kirkwood School District and Special School District, especially the staff at Southview School. An additional special thanks to St. Louis Children's Hospital, including her doctors, Dr. Jean Birmingham, Dr. Amy Viehoever, Dr. Robin Ryther, and the PACT team. In the later years of her life, Caroline was supported by many exceptional nurses and caregivers, which include: Regina, Olivia, Chrissy, Kathy, Katie, Laura, Team Select, and Wings BJC Hospice.
