Nacido en Weslaco, TX, el vivió la mayor parte de su vida en San Juan, TX. José fue un hombre que disfrutaba de reuniones familiares, pasar tiempo con sus primos, ver peliculas, crear carritos de coleccion, jugar carreras, construir carros classicos, e ir de caceria en temporada de la paloma. En 2019, inicio una familia con Jannelli y juntos tuvieron una hermosa niña que era la luz de sus ojos. Con sus padres siempre fue un hijo cariñoso y al pendiente de ellos. Su carisma única y su sonrisa, -vivirá por siempre en los corazones de su familia y amigos.

Le sobrevive con profundo dolor su hija, Kaelanni Yareli Gomez; sus padres, Jose Manuel y Maria Guadalupe Gomez; sus dos hermanos, Jessica (Edward) Arreola, Jorge Luis (Vanessa) Gomez; su pareja, Jannelli Galvan; seis sobrinos, Jaelynn, Ebahnni, Janeesa, Emily, Jared, Elena; y demas familiares.

La velación para José será de 3 pm a 10 pm, con un rosario a las 7 pm, el domingo, 11 de diciembre de 2022, en Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley en Pharr. La velación continuará a las 9 am, con un servicio católico a las 12 pm, el lunes, 12 de diciembre de 2022, en Funeraria del Angel Palm Valley en Pharr. El sepelio continuara el Palm Valley Memorial Gardens en Pharr.
