Life story

David Jorge Beltran is the name David titled himself after leader & father, Jorge Beltran. David was raised by this amazing man who was God fearing, hardworking, & admirable in every way. Little did David know that throughout his life, that is exactly who he came to be.

Growing up David was very intelligent & independent...especially when it came to food & money. He would always find ways to get what he wanted one way or another. Standing in front of the bakery, opening the door for people, and asking for money, was one of them. As a teen, David’s leadership skills were easily evident in his dance, work, and school life (when he wasn’t being lazy.) He worked hard doing what he loved and inspired anyone who watched him. His dream was to travel the world with dance, and he got the chance to fulfill that throughout his 20's. With time, David discovered himself & the fierce queen he truly was on the inside. He grew to be unapologetic, fearless, humble, yet strong.

Now, if you really knew David, then you know these amazing qualities were backed up by crazy, yet hilarious features. If David punked you, called you names, threw shade at you, and gave you stank faces, then he most likely really loved you. Often the people he playfully bullied were the ones he enjoyed the most. That or he just literally couldn’t stand you. Classic David.

(If he was nice to you all the time, you were one of the lucky ones!)

Only he could get away with everything, and we would all just say, “Ehh, it’s just David!” This was mainly because his heart was so big. He gave every person he loved, ALL of himself without ever holding back. It was so powerful to experience, and it's why his absence effects us so deeply.

In his last year, he lived in a way many of us would aspire to live like. Whether it was working countless hours at the bakery to help his family, creating with his mom & sister, having bible studies with his siblings, or consistently checking on his loved ones; he always gave so much love...with a hint of shade of course. God used the imperfections, & pain that David experienced in life, to make his story one of the greatest testimonies to us all. His life was far from perfect, but his love was that of the Lord. Glory to God! Finally, he's receiving in return, that perfect love he so well deserves.

He was selfless, passionate, talented & admirable.

He was a helper, provider, God fearing-hardworking diva.

A light to all, & the greatest comforter and friend.

A soulmate, a brother, a son…

He was his father’s son.

He was and will always be, David Jorge Beltran.

My better half.

He was everything and more to me. My best friend, the one that knew me better than I knew myself, the one I would text at 7am to see if he was still awake to make me food...and of course he was...And of course, he made me food without any complaints. We would watch movies and videos for hours. We always had the same thoughts, and with just one look, we both knew what was happening in our minds and we would laugh every time. He's the only one that saw me at my craziest, happiest moments, but also at my lowest. He never judged me, but instead loved me at every single stage in my life, including the b*tchy Beltran stages lol. I didn't understand why God took him at the time...but now I'm starting to. All the good that he was, I feel God is slowly but surely teaching me to become. And though half of my heart was taken from me the day God took Him home, I realize now, he is holding onto it until I get there. In the meantime God has filled me with himself, and in holding closely to God, it sometimes feels like Brother never left. I feel him still, protecting me, loving me, and cheering me on as I start to grow into the woman I'm destined to become. I live now, not only for God, or myself, but literally for David. All that we dreamed of, I'm determined to accomplish for the both of us. Some day when we're reunited we will tell one another about our adventures, and we'll continue to make new ones in the presence of the Lord. And put on one hell of a show of course. What a reunion that will be indeed. 💫 I love you Brother. Thank you for keeping your promises to me, even from heaven. 💜
