Gone but not forgotten
It is crazy to think that today is 13 years since you are gone. The pain is still real and I miss you dearly. I love you Rey forever.❤️
Rey was born in the Philippines and moved to the USA in his early twenties. He lived in South California for the most part and a couple of years in Portland Oregon where he experienced snow and enjoyed it. One day he came home from work and was telling a story with excitement about how his car ended up in the ditch because of snow on the road. His favorite beach was New Port Beach, CA. He liked to tell a story jokingly about him going fishing with his dad on a pier, and his dad demanded that they would not leave until they got a bucket full of fish. Ironically, they ended up not catching anything.
Rey was a kind soul with a fun personality and he liked to joke around. He loved life, his family and God. Rey was loving father to his kids and faithful husband to his wife Tatyana. He was liked by everyone he met and made friends easily and often was the life of the party.
Rey's one of the favorite hobbies was working on antique cars and motorcycles. His favorite car was a red Cadillac convertible 1968. Alfa Romeo probably was his second favorite, but he had so many cars that he was passionate about so it is hard to tell.
Rey was a foodie as well. He loved trying new foods from different cultures. He knew all the good spots and hole-in-the-wall places with good food and was recommending them to anyone who was interested or not. When he planed a trip to Vegas or anywhere else, he researches places to eat and looked forward to it. Many of his friends and family have fun stories of Rey and food recommendations.
Rey had a musical talent. He self-taught himself to play piano, guitar, and ukulele. And he liked to listen to different kinds of music. On his wedding day, he surprised everyone by playing guitar and sang a song to his wife.
His other hobby were collecting guns and going to the desert to target shooting. He liked to bring his friends and family with him to have the experience of target shooting and riding a motorcycle in a desert.
It is important to mention that Rey loved God. His life was cut short at 43 years of age because of cancer, but even at his last days, he was trying to spread Jesus' word so that they could join with him in heaven.
Rey is very much missed and will never be forgotten. We will see him again in heaven!
