Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: And I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Thank you for your service

Enrique served in the armed forces. We honor that service here.

Life story

"Academically Ricky attended Annalee Elementary School, Magnolia Science Academy Middle School and Junipero Serra High School. It was at Serra High where he came into his own and excelled. He participated on Life Team (campus ministry) and Literary Magazine. He was also a Retreat Coordinator and played soccer. Ricky often assisted faculty and staff with various projects and led the campus in prayer. In his senior year in 2018 he was the recipient of The Presidential Award, Principal Award, Marianist Award and the English Department Award. Ricky also won several scholarships for his essays and was on Honor Roll throughout high school.

Poised for leadership, Ricky graduated Summa Cum Laude and delivered a powerful commencement address to his graduating class as the Salutatorian at Junipero Serra High School in Gardena, California.

On his 18th birthday Ricky entered the United States Navy Academy. Throughout his tenure at USNA, Ricky was a member of the Gospel Choir, the Boxing Team, the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), the Midshipmen Caribbean Heritage Club, the Midshipman Black Studies Club (MBSC), the Latin American Studies Club (LASC); the United States Naval Academy STEM Center, the National Naval Officers Association (NNOA), the Naval Academy Minority Association (NAMA) and he played a pivotal role in helping USNAs 28th company win the annual Annapolis Cup Croquet Match in 2022. Never leaving a shipmate behind, Ricky also led those assigned to remedial physical education with the Brigade Training Team (BTT) in support of the Brigade Physical Mission Officer. Within 28th company, he held various leadership positions, namely as a Peer Advisor promulgating the mission of the Midshipmen Development Center and working towards developing midshipmen morally, mentally and physically."

From the second image:

"Everywhere he went he exuded the love and grace of Christ and amassed over 5,000 hours of volunteer service for organizations such as:

Gigi's Playhouse Annapolis empowering youth with Down Syndrome.

Seeds for Success volunteering with at-risk youth living in poverty.

Anne Arundel County Food Bank feeding the homeless and hungry.

The Stanton Community Center Annapolis tutoring middle and high school students.

In May of 2022, Ricky was the recipient of both the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Award and the Presidential Lifetime Volunteer Service Award in recognition of his sustained superior dedication to community service and leadership.

His words in the USNA Lucky Bag 2022 Yearbook speak to his purpose and exemplify his character, 'Be a man of principle. Fight for what you believe in. Teach your word. Live with integrity. Be brave. Believe in something bigger than yourself. Serve your country. Keep your honor. Grow something back to society. Lead from the front. Conquer your fears. Be a good friend. Be humble and be self-confident. Appreciate your friends and family. Be a leader and not a follower.'

Upon retiring from active Naval Service, Ricky joined the team at Scotiabank as a Capital Market Analyst and continued to earn his professional certifications in Series 7, Fixed Income Markets and Bloomberg Markets Concepts. He most recently served as an Ambassador with First Generation Investors (501(c)3) empowering high school students with investing literacy, his goal 'I want to bring wall street to the hood'

Always smiling and willing to help others, his call to serve extended beyond the uniform and into the local community serving with the Big Brothers Big Sisters NYC, and Camp Connect Maryland mentor recruiting siblings separated through foster care.

Ricky left an indelible impression on everyone he encountered. He was a humanitarian who endeavored to support those in distress. His ministry was service, and his life was his greatest testimony. To know him was to love him. Now he rests. His wars are over. He is at home with his Lord. His words were always delivered with his wonderful benevolent smile and promoted the Navy’s core values he held dear and exhibited so beautifully himself: honor, courage and commitment. The success of so many midshipmen and young people in the community is a tribute to the dedication and support they always felt from him.

God, who is omnipotent and omniscient, summoned His servant to eternal rest on August 6, 2023. He was preceded in death by his mother Julienne Claire Davis. He leaves to cherish his memory and live out his legacy:

Auntie/Mom Deirtra (“Dee Dee”) Butler, Sisters Jelani Barber, Brailey Crandall, Anci Castellon-Davis, Giselle Castellon-Davis, Brothers Jason Davis, Devon Farris and Elijah Castellon. Faithful Grandma Lucille Chatman; Grandparents James Davis, Jean Rivera, Alfonso Castellon and Vania Castellon; three nieces, one nephew, several aunts

In Loving Memory

I met Ricky in 2019 at the Naval Academy Summer STEM program. I was going into my junior year of high school, and he was our squad leader. Our group was called the Bloodhounds, a name I came up with, but he’s the one who gave it meaning. Ricky had that rare ability to lead without forcing it. He carried himself with confidence and steadiness, but he was never distant. He made sure we were squared away, handled what needed to be handled, and still found time to be present with us. He wasn’t just in charge, he was with us. Whether it was making sure we were on time and prepared, or playing basketball and joking around in the gym, he had that big brother energy. You could compete with him, laugh with him, and still look up to him. What stands out most now is that he stayed in touch after the program ended. He didn’t have to. But he cared. In just one week, he made an impact that lasted years. The older I get, the more I realize how rare that is. I’m grateful I got to be one of the Bloodhounds.
