Matt was an insulation specialist at Dolphin Insulation in Littleton for the last several years. Previously, he worked at Slater’s in Bolton, and for Keith Chasse Construction.
He enjoyed gaming and hanging out with his life-long friends, Eli, Dube and Jarred. He looked forward to fishing and simply sitting waterside taking in the moment. Matt had an infectious smile and always made everyone feel welcome and appreciated. Although challenged with Epilepsy since the age of fifteen, a debilitating disease, Matt persevered and was an inspiration to everyone. He will also be remembered for his style and taste in clothing. Matt never left the house unkept – he was always looking his best. He will surely be missed by many. And if you were lucky enough to be around when he was belting out a tune you knew how gifted he was.
Life reminded us just how short, tough, AND how much of a blessing it is, this week. The earth, and an incredibly loyal and loving family, lost a good man way too soon. BUT how lucky his family and friends were to know such a wonderful human, unique in his own way.
With a nickname like 'Mattyboy', you already know this guy was just as warm and endearing as the title most used by his family. Warm enough to light up a room with his handsome smile, and kind eyes, warm enough to sing and live proud and brave through his days, and warm enough to be the perfect balance of sweet and stubborn and stylish.
Matt's passion for fashion, humor, and hard work made him easy to love. Matt had an open, loving heart for all his family and friends, but none so much as his forever love, Carrie and pup, Ollie. Both remained a true and constant for him.
In such a tight-knit family, you are all one of the same, pieces of you in one another, so I can only imagine the kind of deep, Soul-devestating pain this inflicts on his siblings, his soulmate, his pup, let alone, his mother's tough but tender heart. My prayers are with you, but this is where my words fall short, because I understand how hard it is to move forward when something as wild and misunderstood as this happens.
What I DO know is, once the dust settles (but never fades), the beauty of all that Matt was will continue to to shine through your family....
Matt, your mother will sing again, just as beautiful as before, but now with more might, powered by your strength, your brothers will carry your funny spirit with pranks, just like you would have, that will make everyone smile, and your sister, as hard working as she already is, will put her heart and soul, just like you, in everything she does! Carrie and Ollie will continue to love, comfort and protect each other, as you did for them. It will strengthen them all. Behind their future smiles, will be your light.
Oh, and one more thing I know- there's at least one warm, familiar face in Heaven that will not only be glad to be reunited with her grandson, but will also be sending her comfort from up above to your family that needs it. The light of two angels- Meme and Mattyboy, will be the ever-strong guidance and reassurance for your family from now on. What precious hearts to lean upon. What a blessed bunch of Souls.
"My candle burns at both ends; it will not last the night. But ah my foes, and oh my friends - it gives a lovely light." (A River Runs Through It)
A lovely light indeed you were, Mattyboy, and a lovely light you will forever be✨
