Carolina Flores Cantu (1931-2013) Obituary and Memorial

Life story

Carolina Flores Cantu, 81 a lifetime resident of Realitos, Texas entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 02, 2013. She was born in Realitos, Texas on April 3, 1931 to her parents, Dionicio and Jesusa Flores. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She retired from the Nutrition center of Realitos and the school cafeteria in Benavides after many years of employment. She enjoyed cooking, baking, dancing and spending time with her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother who will be sadly missed by all her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Adan Cantu Sr.; her daughter, Norma C. Villarreal; two brothers, Antonio P. Flores and Guadalupe Flores; one sister, Diamantina Davila.

Carolina is survived by her nine children, Adan Cantu Jr. (Diana) of Realitos, Texas, Armandina Ramirez (Jose Luis) of Hebbronville, Texas, Victor Cantu Sr. (Rosana) of Realitos, Texas, Graciela Cantu of Falfurrias, Texas, Jose L. Cantu (Carmela) of Realitos, Texas, Gilberto Cantu (Eva) of Realitos, Texas, Guadalupe Cantu of Hebbronville, Texas, Marisa Hinojosa (Humberto) of Benavides, Texas, and Mario Cantu Sr. (Belinda) of Realitos, Texas; one sister, Gloria Canales (Rolando) of Victoria, Texas; 35 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. on Monday, March 4, 2013 at the Garza Funeral Home in San Diego, Texas with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Realitos, Texas. Interment will follow at Realitos Cemetery in Realitos, Texas.
