To know her, was to love her.
Hana Fawaz, 22, born in Tampa, Florida, resided then in Canton, Michigan. Loving daughter of Mohamed & Tina Fawaz, sister of Mostafa Fawaz & Alea Dulapa.
Hana attended Canton High School, International School of Barcelona, & graduated from Michigan Virtual Charter Academy. After graduation she enrolled in L’esprit Academy to pursue her passion for cosmetology. At L’esprit Academy she was the Student Class Ambassador. She inherited her creativity from her mom, she loved to paint & sculpt. Hana was a beautiful girl and found a love for pageants. That passion carried over for a dream come true trip to New York to walk in New York’s Fashion Week.
She competed in Miss Michigan as Miss West Canton. She also won People’s Choice at Miss Petite USA.
She was very family oriented & cared for her friends as if they were also family. She gave so much to so many people in such a short amount of time. She was always thinking of others and giving people personal gifts with so much meaning behind them. She was a devoted bunny momma and gave her “Fufu” the most love and best companionship. She loved and helped care for her family cat, Kitty. Everyone who knew Hana also knew her sense of humor. She knew how light up a whole room. She was a very caring person and did everything she could to help others while fighting her own mental battles.
At the age of 7 Hana had won an all-age watermelon eating competition. In middle school she joined the Plymouth-Canton Pompon team and was the most valuable pommer in 2013. She was the top-sales employee for every job she had worked.
Hana loved all things Hello Kitty, Sun Bum brand, she adored old fashioned clowns, had quite the squishmallows collection & was super excited for the Barbie movie to come out. She loved to skate, penny board, & snowboard.
Hana found joy in helping others and did what she could for the community. She volunteered at the Humane Society, donated to the suicide hotline, did nails for kids with special needs, & used her platform to spread information about mental health, domestic abuse, sexual assault, and eating disorders.
She was so deeply loved by so many and will be forever missed. We believe she is sending us signs that she is okay & with us through butterflies🦋
May you rest in great peace Hana
