

William James Simpson
William James Simpson, a retired engineer with the Federal Communications Commission, died Friday at Oschner Foundation Hospital. He was 83. Mr. Simpson was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma and in lived in New Orleans for the past 54 years. He served as in the Army Signal Corps during WWII, fought part of the Army of Occupation in Japan. He graduated from Tulane Univeristy's school of Engineering, and was a member of Tau Beta Pi. He injected radion stations, issued ham radio licenses and was a ham radio operator for 67 years. He was a member of St. Lukes Methodist Churse, and a volunteer van driver and board member at Lakeview Shepard Center. He also belonged to the Lakeview Civic Association and had been troop master of Boy Scout Troop No. 150. Burial in Metairie Cemetery.
