Life story

Mark loved this walk in the woods. He first discovered Cullum Trail with his big sister, Julia. The days following that he was often found out here with his daughter, McKenzie and her dogs, Izzy & Roux. He also loved showing those he held closest to his heart this trail when they were in town including his daughter, Kristy & her husband, Michael, as well as Mark's mom - Nancy. One of his favorite memories out here is launching his family heirloom row boat and taking it from Cullums trail to right past Imperial, dodging all the cypress knees on the way. If you're reading this we hope that you've found this bench in his memory. He always wished there was a bench on the later part of the trail so it only seemed fitting to put one here. Take seat and listen to the birds sing.

Lil Brother

So many memories in my heart about you. Being the only girl in our family I wanted you to be a girl. But God had other plans for us. As the oldest and only female I immediately took to nurturing you. Riding you on back of bike in the summer months to play kickball, or to ride to Grandma’s or biking to city pool — the four of us had fun together. Of course we would ride home in time to get our chores done before supper. Being ten years older than you when I went to college I really did miss you. When I came home the first time you were sitting on front porch steps with your hands holding your cleft chin, looking sad you said “where have you been? I miss you today and I’m happy to have been your sister. Love you always unconditionally.
