Obituary:
Will was born July 5, 1999 in Arlington, Virginia to Dan and Sharon Harris. A true Arlingtonian, he lived his first year at Virginia Square and the remainder in Arlington Forest in the family’s beloved 118 house. He grew up around laughter and love with his parents and his two sisters Danielle and Samantha Harris.
Will attended Campbell Elementary, Kenmore Middle, and Wakefield High School. He became a very curious learner, earning a certificate in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration from Northern Virginia Community College and continued to take classes in Visual Art exploring mediums such as sketching, painting, and graphic design.
A true animal lover, he held deep bonds with family pets Midnight (dog), Luna (dog), Killua (cat), Cairo (cat), and Mikasa (cat). His kind heart always seemed to attract fur-friends, winning their trust easily. He always took the time to teach a trick, give a treat, and shower animals with tremendous love.
Will was a life-long video game fan. From the original XBOX, to almost every model since, Will could be found playing games until the wee hours of the night. Not only was the satisfaction of unlocking achievements rewarding, but even more important was the online community he was a part of. Will used gaming as a mode of quality time spent with friends and family, where distance was no boundary.
Will discovered his green thumb and grew a wonderful home garden. With a lot of thought and care put into each seedling, he was always proud to tour visitors around his garden and happy to share the fruits of his labor with others.
Will was admired for his generosity, light heartedness, and caring spirit. After he faced a cancer diagnosis in mid 2021 he continued to show unimaginable courage, determination, and grace. Even through it all, he still joked often and was always thinking about how to improve the lives of others.
Will’s light is carried on by his parents Dan Harris and Sharon Harris ; his sisters Danielle Harris and Samantha Harris ; his grandparents Angelita Ventura and Bill Harris; and many aunts, uncles, cousins far and near who loved him so.
The family of Will wishes to extend our sincere thanks for the shower of love and prayers that brought Will joy and comfort. He very much appreciated every one of you. Much love to you all.
Finally, keep your heart open, and you will find Will’s magic everywhere you go 🪄
