Life story
Sarah was born into this world in a hurry, she gave doctors and nurses barely anytime to make it into the room before she made her way into this beautiful world~ seems from the beginning of her journey. She had doctors and nurses running! who knew 25 years later, she would have them doing the same! as she grew into a toddler, she definitely knew what she wanted and didn’t hold back about going after it. As a parent it was very frustrating at times and I even remember saying ~ remember child you are not in charge here, I am. it wasn’t until later in her life that I realized that she was grooming herself to be a leader, to guide and to help others, as she wouldn’t be here long. she was so funny, so sweet, so full of sass. Sarah used to hide from her older brother when saying goodbye. She didn’t want him to leave, she loved him so much. school came easy to her. She was a social butterfly and in grade school, She made a group of friends, in the wonder years, that were life changing for her and for them as they stayed in touch into their adult years, special friendships, indeed. Sarah was extremely close with her older sister Hannah, they did almost everything together. They truly were the best of friends. One day when they were driving to come see me at work, Hannah was driving and they witnessed a car drive into a transformer and catch on fire. The girls pulled over Hannah called 911 and Sarah, 15 years old at the time called the woman from her car and got her to safety. Sarah helped stop the bleeding from the woman’s head until paramedics could arrive. This would be the moment. Sarah said she wanted to become a nurse and help others. I was so proud of my girls!! after that, Sarah decided to buckle down on her school studies with her eye on being a nurse someday, but she also wanted her own car and not to have to hitch a ride with her sister all the time now that she was of legal age to drive. Sarah decided she didn’t want anyone to borrow her car and she knew none of her siblings knew how to drive a stick shift, including herself so before she even knew how to drive a stick shift Car, she bought one! Then had her stepdad teach her how to drive it! She learned in a day and none of the siblings ever borrowed her car! she was always so driven and determined. Before we knew it she was graduating high school with a 3.8 GPA and with an associates degree in 2014 and didn’t know it at the time, but she was sneaking off after school to a Marine recruiter office hanging out learning as much as she could and even organizing and rearranging things in their office. She was very determined to become a Marine! August 11, 2014 she left for Paris Island, South Carolina for 13 weeks for training to become a United States Marine. on October 21, 2014, she earned her eagle globe and anchor as United States Marine upon completing her 54 hour crucible. she then chose to extend her military training and went to the school of infantry at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina and upon completing that training, Sarah got stationed at Okinawa, Japan where she served in military transport operations until she was transferred to Camp Pendleton. she was a full-time Marine, married and began her schooling working towards becoming a nurse, and someday she had hoped to further her education to become a nurse practitioner. In 2018, she finished her contract as a United States Marine and moved to Oklahoma with her family and continued her life as a full-time mama of two little boys, Wife, and a full-time nursing student. she stayed up late studying, making flashcards to help other students, sacrificing sleep to play with the boys, up early to make breakfast. she was always there for those who needed her despite what was going on behind closed doors. She always put others needs before her own. She helped several nursing students pull through and get to graduation when they were about to drop out, she wasn’t going to let that happen. No one left behind was always her motto. In may 2021 she graduated nursing school with high honors and was immediately hired by SSM St. Anthony Hospital emergency room department as an ER nurse. she was so excited to finally get her dream job of becoming a nurse. when that ambulance drove into the bay, she did not shy away from it, she was not timid, she ran towards it. She was ready. Sarah never backed down from a challenge. she always wanted to be true to herself, challenge herself to learn and to grow. She always stood for the truth and what she believed in. She was so full of compassion for others. she wanted to grow as a person to be better for herself and for her boys. she always tried to see the best in others and to lift them up. Her two boys were her whole world & loved them more than anything.
How I yearn for one more day with you. You made me feel seen, understood, appreciated and loved. You lifted me up in my darkest hour. You inspired me to love people more freely. You diminished my fears and insecurities. You made me feel safe. Moments spent with you were pure bliss. You were wise well beyond your years. You had a way of knowing exactly what my heart needed and meeting that need effortlessly. You restored parts of me that had withered away. You opened my eyes to the beauty of true friendship. You revitalized my jaded worldview. You walked side by side with me through some of my worst moments and many of my best moments. Your love strengthened me. You were an angel in my life sent from Heaven above. You made my life worth living at a time when I was barely holding my head above water. Without you, I wouldn't be a nurse. Without you, I may not have made it out of the abyss. Each day I reflect on the impact you had in my life. Each day I thank God for you. I carry you with my always, from now until the end of time. Someday we will be reunited. I hold onto that hope and it keeps me going. I love when you visit me in my dreams. The bliss I have gotten to feel seeing you there, I never want to wake up from it. It's the same feeling I got each time I had the pleasure of spending time with you. I love you so much Sarah Ann. I know you are with me in spirit, my guardian angel. 😇
