Life story
Gerald James “Jerry” Stauner was born September 25, 1932, the 2nd son of Joseph James “Joe” Stauner and Clarice Kruger Stauner. His older brother, Dean Michael, died in infancy. His younger brother, Ronald Joseph Stauner was born December 7, 1937.
Jerry grew up and went to school in Manly, IA. His father was a Railroad Engineer for the Rock Island Railroad and his mother was a homemaker, active in the community.
The family took an annual vacation to Walker, MN where Joe was raised and enjoyed making memories with family.
Jerry was seriously hurt when he was 8 years old.
