Lori Jean Stoker Eyre was called home by her heavenly father on April 15th, 1996.
She was born August 7th, 1960 and is the daughter of Gerald W. And Jeanette G. Stoker of Cedar City, Utah. Lori fought a long and valiant battle against breast cancer before returning home.
Lori married Russell Eyre on February 18th, 1983 and this marriage was later solemnized in the Provo Temple. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints and held many callings in the Sunbow, Cove and Beacon Hill wards. She especially love primary and little children. Lori graduated from Southern Utah State College along with her husband Russell. She was a member of a student government and loved to be associated with other people.
While working for First Interstate Bank in Salt Lake City, she was designated "teller of the year" which brought her joy since she really didn't like mathematics. Lori loved teaching and began her career in Duchesne and later at Cedar City Adult High School. Lori loved to run which she did prior to and during her long illness. She was a friend to many and loved by all who knew her.
One of Lori's favorite hangouts was at the family cabin up Cedar canyon with her entire family doing dutch oven cooking, four-wheeling, snowmobiling, and other outdoor activities. Lori loved life and lived it throughout her mortal stay on Earth.
Her greatest joys in life were her husband and four children. She survived by her husband, Russell, and children, Chad, April, Austin, and Logan, her parents; and brother, Steven Stoker (Wendy) of Price Utah; sisters Karrie Adams (David) of St. George and SueAnn Adams (Craig) of Cedar City. Her grandparents Clair and Helen Gillins and Billie and Glenn Osborne of Milford, Utah. Also many nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Lori will be greatly missed by her family, loved ones and friends. She also would have expressed her thanks to the hospice and home health care program and especially to a new friend, Shani Condie, who went above and beyond normal care and blessed her with love and compassion.
Friends and family may visit the family at a viewing held in Southern Utah Mortuary, Wednesday evening, April 17th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday morning, April 18th from 11:00 to 12:30 p.m. funeral services will follow at the West Hills chapel at 1:00 p.m. interment will be in the Cedar City cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah mortuary.
