Shirley Marie Jensen Stauner

Shirley Marie “Shirl” Jensen was born May 17, 1938 to Raymond Otto “Ray” Jensen (age 26) and Anna Marie “Ann” Lechman Jensen (age 24) in Britt, IA.

Shirl is the 2nd of five children; older sister Mary Ann, younger brothers Paul and Pete and younger sister Kathy.

Shirl was raised in Britt and attended school there. She graduated in 1956.

Shirl married the love of her life, Gerald James “Jerry” Stauner on April 27, 1957 in Britt, IA. Their wedding party included:

They drove to Walt Disneyland in California for their honeymoon.

They made their home in Manly, IA. Jerry was attending barber school and Shirl worked for the local dentist.

July 3. 1959 they welcomed their first child, a boy. Mark Allen Stauner weighed in at and inches.

September 17, 1960 Paternal grandmother, Maren Christine Christensen Jensen died in Britt, IA at the age of 91 years old.

The small family moves to Minneapolis.

February 18, 1961 They welcomed their 2nd child, a girl. Lori Marie Stauner arrived at 2:04 am in the middle of a Minnesota snowstorm.

January 10, 1962 Maternal grandfather, Johannes “John” Lechman passed away.

The growing family moves to Bloomington, MN.

October 17, 1964 They welcome their 3rd child, a girl. JoAnn Rae Stauner

March 1966 Father-in-Law, Joseph James Stauner dies in train accident,

June 26, 1967 Brother Paul Jensen dies in motorcycle accident.

July 17, 1967 Maternal grandmother, Anna Marie Lechman Lechman passes away in Chicago, IL.

December 1, 1970 Father Raymond Otto Jensen passes away.

February 1978 moved to new house in Eden Prairie, MN

July 2, 1978 Mark was killed by a drunk driver.

August 28, 1982 Bret and Lori Flemmer, married at Church of the Assumption in Richfield, MN

July 7, 1986 First Grandchild, a girl. Jessica Ashley Flemmer was born at 4:45 pm at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park

April 27, 1987 30th Wedding Anniversary

September 12, 1987 Mike and Joni Tibodeau, married at Pax Christi Catholic Church in Eden Prairie. Reception at the Knights of Columbus in Bloomington, MN.

November 12, 1987 Second grandchild, a girl. Janna Marie Flemmer was born at 4:45 pm at Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN.

January 30, 1990 Mother, Anna Marie Lechman Jensen passes away.

May 10, 1990 Third grandchild, a boy. Zachary Mark Tibodeau was born at. At Southdale Hospital in Edina, MN.

March 1, 1991 Aunt Doris Kruger passes away.

April 27, 1992 35th Wedding Anniversary

September 30, 1992 Jerry takes early retirement from the USPS.
