Dorothy Dea (Lymer) Hughes
She was the glue of the family.
Acts 20:35 is a great description of who Dorothy is. "In everything I did I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said; it is more blessed to give than to receive." She had a servant's heart and raised more than justher three boys. She opened her home to anyone in need. Her love for the lord is expressed through her faithful work with children for many years at her church. She attended every event for her kids, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. You could find her throwing cow pies at the frogs in the pond with her grandchildren, drifting around the shed on her four wheeler, hunting mushrooms and frying them to perfection, and doing the silliest things she could to make her grandkids laugh. She was a carpenter, mechanic, baseball coach, Sunday school teacher, farmer, and cook, but the most important thing we called her was sister, wife, mom, and grandma. She knew she could get all of her family gathered together at the mention of her fried chicken, taters, and gravy. Our fondest memories are having the entire family in her dining room, playing cards with Pepsi and popcorn.
