Haley Faye Grubbs

Haley Faye Grubbs was born June 6th, 2005. Since then, she took the world by storm and made it her own. She was a daughter, a sister, a friend, and so many other things to others. She knew just how to make you laugh and make your day brighter. She would walk in a room and it would instantly light up because of her sweet and silly personality. She loved to hunt, bake, and her favorite, telling horrible dad jokes. She was East Lawrence's 2022-2023 Homecoming Queen and class president. She graduated May 22nd, 2023 from East Lawrence High School and started her pre-nursing classes at Calhoun Community College. Within a few days of her passing, she was accepted into Calhoun's Nursing Program. Haley has wanted to work in the medical field for as long as anyone can remember. Part of that stemmed from her obsession with Grey's Anatomy and the other part was because she had a heart for giving and serving. She always look at nursing as more than a paycheck. She wanted to care for those who couldn't and be an advocate for those who could advocate themselves. She was a CNA at Decatur Morgan Hospital on the 4th floor. She made so many new friendships with the people she worked with and her patients. She always strived to be the best she could be. Haley was also one who loved hard. Since her passing, there's been a few different things done to honor and preserve her memory. A blood drive was hosted LifeSouth and friends. Haley was a habitual blood donor and was dedicated to saving lives. "Haley's Prom Closet" was created by a host of family and friends to provide prom dresses to young ladies that may not be in the best financial situation, be able to attend prom and feel special on their big night. The "Haley Grubbs Foundation" is also in the works to be able to still carry on all of the events and also provide suicide awareness and shed light on emotionally abusive situations.
