Life story
In loving memory of our dear Leslie ‘Les’ Jr, a cherished son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. Those who knew Leslie were touched by his infectious unforgettable laughter, sarcastic humor, gentle manner, and pure and kind soul. He was a cool dude, a gifted prankster particularly with the kids. His departure has left a void that can never be filled, he was truly unique and cherished.
Leslie was born in Angeles City in the Philippines to Christine Gowns and Leslie Clark Snr. He attended St Francis Xavier high school in Liverpool, UK and London Met University. His gift to excel in everything he pursued was truly impressive. From his love of music, pursuit of knowledge, to his sporting prowess, he stayed true to his determination to live life in his own way.
He is survived by parents Christine Gowns, Leslie Clark Snr sisters Natika Clark, Jennifer Clark, Rebecca Clark and nieces and nephews Morgan, Amelia, Eden, Amarii and a large circle of relatives and friends who loved him dearly. Leslie will be remembered for his beaming smile and for being a huge presence in his own subtle way.
Leslie - Visiting your tribute at Everton’s new home meant everything. A beautiful gift from Dave and Debbie, so deeply appreciated by Mum, Tiki, Jen and Becky — all of us who loved the fun and light you brought into our lives. It was a day filled with memories of you, son. I miss you with my whole heart, Being there helped me understand something I carry quietly every day: I will keep missing you, fiercely and endlessly, until the time comes when I can be with you again
Christine Gowns**Happy Birthday, My Beloved Son**
Leslie, happy birthday to you,
Wherever your beautiful soul has flown.
On this day in 1982, you arrived,
A blessing wrapped in love, full of life.
I remember your birth, the joy so new—
A mother's love blossomed, deep and true.
I joked our birthdays were the same,
For it was I who bore the labour, gave you your name.
The day you came my heart found a new beat, joined with the love of your sisters made my life so complete.
A symphony of happiness, a song so pure,
Our hearts danced together, so secure.
But now, you're gone, and my heart beats wrong,
It sings an off-beat, sad, and broken song.
I search for you in every note, every prayer,
But life without you feels too much to bear.
To celebrate without you—how can I be whole?
It defies nature rules and tears at my soul.
Yet today, I whisper, "Happy birthday to us,"
For though you're gone, in love I trust.
Leslie, my son, wherever you roam,
My love will follow, you will always be home.
Happy birthday, my child, my forever light—
I will love you beyond the day and night.

Celebrating Leslie’s 40th with him in Atlanta. We had just been to an amazing Korean restaurant for food. We danced and laughed in celebration of wonderful you..Everyone who knew you that night that we bumped into loved you and could see what a good and cool soul you are. This would be the last time I would see you in this life Les. But the universe was kind enough to keep this a secret for this night. Will aways love you and I’m so proud to be your Mom.x
One evening I get a phone call from my mum and she says "Leslie is visiting" I remember feeling so excited. It had been a long time since I saw him. Growing up I always have the best memories with all my cousins and Leslie was no different.
The evening was filled with laughter, it was like we hadn't been apart. We drank, stuffed our faces with a good Liverpool scran and laughed so much. I remember Leslie's goofy sense of humor and infectious laugh.
Now I remember that day often. It was the last time I was with Leslie. I wish it wasn't. Leslie your memories will always live on. I miss you. Our family won't be the same.
Always loved
