Joseph David Higdon
His body of this world may have failed, but his spirit will live in each of us strong and vibrant.
Thank you for your service
Joseph served in the armed forces. We honor that service here.
Joe David's greatest joy in life was his family. He was a devoted husband and met the love of his life, Joyce Ann, in 1966. They have spent 56 years together growing their family. He was a proud and dedicated father to Dave (Kim), Jim (Lisa), and Tonja (Tommy). In addition, he was a gentle and amazing Pappaw to EmaLea (Reed), Blaire, Elayne, Grant (Paula Marie), Ellie, Matthew, Trey (Megan), and Chase, and he was overjoyed to be a great-grandfather to Wrenley June and Elowynn Ruth Bowden. Joe David was the third oldest of ten children, and he is survived by six brothers, three sisters, and their families, whom he cherished and loved deeply.
Joe David was an eternal optimist and always looking to help others. His zest for life through the years led him to become an avid gardener. He loved crossword puzzles, golfing, and playing games. He loved tinkering in his garage, where he showed his skills as a master woodworker and metalsmith. He especially enjoyed having meals with his family.
In his memory, donations may be made to Arbor Day Foundation.
