About Brandon:
Brandon Jamaad Smiley was born to Brenda Green and Broderick Smiley on February 7, 1990 in Birmingham, Alabama. He also shared a loving relationship with his step father, Taurice Green. He departed this earthly life on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at the age of 32.
Brandon gave his life to Christ at a young age and recently rededicated his life to Christ at First Baptist Kingston. He was the oldest sibling of five: D’essence, Taylor, Malik, and Aaryn. He was proud to be a father to his only child, his daughter Storm Smiley.
He was raised in Birmingham until year 8 and moved to Atlanta, Georgia where he attended elementary school at Schriener Academy and later, Campbell Middle School. He was great competitor in baseball, football, wrestling and basketball.
Brandon then moved back to Birmingham at the age of 14 and graduated from Spain Park High School. He was then accepted to and attended Alabama State University. He later transferred to The University of Alabama where he pursued a degree in Business. While in college, he enlisted in the Army National Guard.
Brandon had a passion for being creative and expressed himself through stand up comedy, acting, writing, and drawing. He starred on Rickey Smiley For Real, a reality television show about his father’s family life. He also made appearances on many stages as a host and stand up comedian.
Brandon was even a force to be reckoned with on the pool table. You could often catch him dominating friends and family in pool tournaments. He was the ultimate jokester, he could find light in any situation. He knew how to brighten up a dark room. He touched our lives in many ways. He will be remembered as a wonderful brother, a great friend, a generous uncle, father, cousin, nephew, and an inspiration to thousands.
Survived By:
His priceless smile, sense of humor, and creativity will forever be cherished by his loving survivors. Brandon leaves a beautiful legacy, his daughter, Storm Smiley. He also leaves his parents, Brenda and Taurice Green, and Broderick Smiley; siblings, D’essence, Taylor, Malik, and Aaryn; a cherished girlfriend, Brooke; grandparents, Carolina and husband, Ravis Morris, and Eddie Watkins; great grandmother, Lurlene Corbin; aunts, Nikki, Karon, Dosha, Valerie, Monica, Ravis, Evon, Chiquita, and Ashley; uncles, Demetrice, Willie, DeWayne, Roland, and Frederick; a host of a cousins, great aunts and uncles.
