Life story

Doug was passionate for trucks, tractors and his family. He loved driving, working in his shop with his tools, and teaching his kids everything he knew. He loved his extended family and would call and talk to them while he was driving to keep in touch. He had a heart bigger than all the out doors and we miss him everyday.

What Doug was most grateful for.

This was taken from a memory on Doug’s Facebook page written by him. So my lovely wife challenged me to write three things I'm gratefully for. Like she mentioned the obvious, family and loved ones. The gospel of Jesus Christ is a large part of my life but in thinking of this, not to get mushy but first is my beautiful wife. 1 I love being married to Tonya! She completes me. I just love to be around her. I am content knowing that we are one. I know I drive her crazy at times. Marriage is still something you have to work at. She is my best friend. I some times have to leave home for long periods but it is always sweet to come home and rediscover my wonderful partner. I am great full for Tonya Winn Beutler! 2 would be our great home and property in Hurricane, UT. Tonya and I have put a lot of work into our place. We are continually making it our dream home. It is just peaceful to sit on the deck and enjoy our place. I love working in the shop where I am surrounded by my tools and equipment with which I can fix or build nearly anything. It is therapeutic for me fixing trucks or building a jeep with my son. I am great full for the ability to creat this nice property and continue to enjoy it. 3 mechanical things (mostly trucks and tractors). Most who know me will understand when I say I have a hard time thinking heaven will be enjoyable for me without a long hood Kenworth there. I love to drive!!!! Being in control of an awesome machine af any kind brings me joy. I love to listen to the rhythm of the engine. I don't need music I just need a nice sounding engine to listen to. It can be -20 out side but on a long downgrade I have to roll down the window to listen to the Jakebrake talk all the way down. I just love about anything mechanical. I have loved helping during harvest on Wes Beutler's farm the last several years. Working the land with a tractor is a great thing. So I am grateful for a mechanical mind!

Wild and reckless

My dad had a love for dirt bikes that could probably rival his love for trucks. He grew up riding them while working the farm, and would hit the trails with his buddy’s after the farm work was done. In his last few years with us, he rode an XR600 and gave his CRF450X to me. This aloud my dad and me to ride trails together in southern Utah, and Franklin county Idaho. Even though I tried, I could never out ride my “old man”. As soon as he would kick start his bike he’d become fearless. I learned a lot about riding and life on our trail rides as we would always stop to take pictures and talk. I cherish all of these adventures with my dad and hope I can go on more with my son.
