Sandra Lynne Porter
“ I believe in the Sun even when it is not shining; in Love even when I am alone; and in God even when He is silent.”
Sandra Lynne Porter was born on January 17, 1944 in Zanesville, Ohio to Charles J. Garich and Doris (Dunn) Garich.
Sandy was married several times. She is buried next to her ex-husband, Phil Porter. They continued to be dear friends following their divorce and she even stayed by his side while he battled lung cancer.
Sandy comes from a large family and has nine siblings. Two brothers and seven sisters. Her large family also included tons of nieces and nephews.
She worked hard her whole life and was mostly in legal secretary positions. She worked for the Muskingum County Prosecutors Office before retiring in 2014.
She was kind hearted and would do anything for anyone. She loved her family and friends and enjoyed spending time with them. Her friends were very special to her and she often enjoyed their company over lunch or dinner. They shared many, many laughs together and her friendship with people spanned decades upon decades. That speaks volumes to her love of her friends. Although she dearly loved her family she shared a special bond with her niece Jennifer, her husband Cory and their children Cole and Melody. She would talk about Cole and Melody to anyone who would listen. They were her pride and joy. Her friends probably knew more than they ever cared to know about them. 😊 She would have walked to the ends of the earth for them and whatever they needed.
I think she was 5’1” tall. She was everyone’s “twiddle person” or “Sandy Pocket.” She was small, but mighty. Set in her ways and very particular about certain things. She knew what she liked and wanted things to be the way she wanted them to be. Gotta love a woman who know what she wants. ♥️
Sandy was baptized by her favorite pastor years ago. She loved the Lord and knew she would be with him one day. We are sure she’s probably being harassed by her brother, brother in laws and sisters. Ha!
Sandy is deeply missed by family and friends. Her porch misses her too. She spent every chance she could sitting on her porch and enjoying the weather and soaking up the sun. She is loved by so many.
Her life was cut too short. She passed away a little over a month before her 80th birthday.
We cherish our memories and hope that by scanning this medallion you learn a little about the wonderful person Sandy was and how much she meant to so many.
