Life story
Erwin "Pat" Korish, 79 of La Crosse passed away Saturday, December 9, 2023 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on March 17, 1944 to Erwin A. and Janice (Roth) Korish. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving from 1961 and being honorably discharged in 1983. On July 7, 1962 Erwin married Bonnie Jean Rohrer and they celebrated 61 years of marriage.
Pat worked at Franciscan Skemp (Mayo) for 40 years before retiring to spend time with his family. Pat enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and golfing with family and friends . He loved visiting the children's ward at the hospital and his grandchildren's and great grandchildren's school, dressed as a Leprechaun every year since his 50th birthday. If you would ask him what his greatest accomplishment was he would say his wife of 61 years, his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be forever missed by all who loved him.
Erwin is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie; two daughters, Karolee (Carl) Behringer of Onalaska and Tamra (Mark) Sullivan of La Crosse; two sons, Scot (Kelly) Korish and Eric (Karla) Korish both of La Crosse; grandchildren...Adam (Alyssa) Behringer, Michael (Amelia) Behringer, Nick Behringer, Anthony Behringer, Christopher Behringer, Nici Behringer, Matthew (Ashley) Sullivan, Zach Sullivan, Jake Sullivan, Casie (Ryan) Klich, Courtnaey (Lucas Chase) Korish, Connor Korish, Kamryann Korish, Kenzie Korish, Alex Korish, Katie (Andy) Crowley. Great Grandchildren... Trenton Stalsberg, Eliana Behringer, Landon Behringer, Lydia Behringer, Silas Behringer, Madeline Behringer, Archer Sullivan, Emilee Klich, Attleigh Klich, Finnley Klich, Brian Phelps, Queen Williams, Royalty Williams, Louis Chase, Logan Chase, Scot Chase and Payton Crowley. His step-mother, Carla Korish, sisters Anita Mason and Sue Meyer and brothers Richard (Jan) Korish, Tom (Patty) Korish and Steve (Debbie) Sandau, Ken (Rose) Korish, John (Stephanie) Korish, many nieces,nephews and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry Korish,Timothy and Richard Sandau; mother-in-law, Vivian Rohrer; and father-in-law, Frederick Rohrer.
