Life story

HARKER Margot Louise (nee Strachan) born November 6th, 1947, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, March 7, 2001. The daughter of Ian Helen Strachan of Oliver, B.C. Survived by her loving and caring husband Rick for 27 years; two sons Drew Naomi, Brandon Sabrina; one daughter Lisa; three grandchildren Araya, Jasmine Alexandria; one brother John Thomas Strachan of Edmonton, Alta.

Predeceased by daughter Dawn Louise. Margot was born in New Westminster and grew up in Surrey and graduated from Queen Elizabeth High School. The most gratifying part of her very short working career was the past 7 years at the Lions Easter Seal House on Oak Street in Vancouver. Margot enjoyed the daily contact with the many guests that she came into contact with on a daily basis. The most enjoyable part of each year for her was to make sure that each and every child had a wrapped Christmas present to go home with.

Margot's first thoughts were always in making sure that our guests were happy, content and safe. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the complete staff and Doctors at the BC Cancer Clinic as she firmly believed that they were all a gift from God. Funeral Service will be held on March 9, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Ryerson United Church, 2195 West 45th with a tea, coffee sandwiches to follow in the Memorial Center across Yew Street from the Church. Internment to follow March 10, 2001 at Cawston Cemetery, Cawston, BC with her family relatives in attendance.
