Missing my husband

That night I went to bed I was me. The next day I was somebody else. I remember closing my eyes and thinking maybe it wasn’t real. If I didn’t open my eyes maybe it wouldn’t be true. Maybe it would all be a dream. But it wasn’t. I was no where near prepared for the devastation. I don’t know if advanced warning would have helped, but something about the unexpectedness felt even more unfair. In the blink of an eye my life was ripped in half, torn to shreds, and floating away. I’ll never forget the pain. A deep intense physical pain, like feeling my heart explode in my chest. Steve was such a great dad ,husband, and friend he is truly missed each day.

Jeanne WardwellSteve, you may be gone from our sight, but you are never gone from our lives. I will always love you, and Heather and Hunter will always be proud to be your kids. Our family is still built on you.
Gloria DunnI think about you all every now and again. How we all met, “all because of a little girl calling wanting to speak to her daddy“. I think after I found out who that little girl was that’s when we became friends. I remember how he beamed when he was telling me that was his daughter that called. But it drove me crazy because I didn’t know who her Dad was, and she only knew him as Daddy. I thought something was wrong at home. Too much TV! I was new to the Company and didn’t know everyone then, but that changed. I remember the slushies in the summer and the cookies at Christmas! The little things that made me smile and feel so special! Steve was a really good person and he really cared about everyone around him! Thank you for sharing, and I always keep all of you in my heart and prayers! I hope you are all doing well! Take care of each other! G
