~A Memory from Courtney

I didn’t get to see her but twice my entire life but she would call me often. I always knew it was her when I would answer the phone and she would say “ Well praise the lord”. I’ll never forget her voice.

Granny was the one that taught me have to drive. I remember she called me in the office and asked me if I wanted to drive and I told her yes! She brought me outside and took me to a mercury and it was standard lol. She said I’ll show you have to drive this car and after you will be able to drive anything. She kept taking every week and that was our thing to do until I got it.

~A Memory from Braelynn

It was being at church and we would sit in the row in front granny and papa and she would pull out her little bag of candy and have those hard caramel candies and give us a hand full of them and tell us to pass them down. Or when we would go visit and sitting in the office she would be like are y’all hungry? Or if you mentioned something about being hungry she would take us to the back room to get our bag of chips. Also the bubble gum we had to have one for right then and then save one for later!!❤️ Also she had these little chocolate candies and would want them every year when they came out around Christmas time, she called them her “poo poo candy”. So now every time I see those I get me a box.

~A Memory from Chelsea

Granny was a very headstrong woman! What she wanted was what she was going to get and no one was going to say anything about it! When her time here on Earth was nearing its end, we all wanted our Granny to stay!! And so in our efforts to stop the inevitable, we began to change her diet and vitamin this and vitamin that…. And one Sunday she came to a dinner we had after church and there was so much food and desserts…. She had herself a modest portion of the food that was being served and when she was done she kind of just looked around… I knew she wanted dessert, but my mom who had been working so hard to ensure she was not eating sweets and was eating her vitamins was sitting right there….. as she looked around, I knew exactly what she wanted!!!! I said Granny, you want some dessert? She pushed her chair out and stood up so fast, she said Boy, Do I !!! Show me where it is!!! And we walked over to the dessert table and she had herself 2 plates of dessert 😀🧁 and I avoided eye contact with my mom for the remainder of the day…. One day granny and I were talking… just chit chatting about everything under the sun… and we get on the topic of food and she starts telling me about the perfect size rice pot she said it’s enough for 2 people! Then she asks me if I would like a rice pot… I was like I don’t want your rice pot Granny! Thank you anyway!! She says no I have 6 of them!! I’ll give you one!! I said why do you have 6 rice pots Granny?? She said because anytime I start talking to someone about my rice pot, if they want one, I have one they can have!! She said I gave a rice pot to this person and gave one to that person… she says anytime someone mentions rice pot I get excited!!! Oh Boy! You want a rice pot?? I got a rice pot!! Talk about a rice pot!!! She was not lacking in personality or generosity!!Granny was a gem, a rare, one of a kind gem💎

~A Memory from Victoria

I have so many memories of granny, but what stood out most to me is the way she treated people and her character. Everyone who came into her home was treated like her family. she always made sure each and everyone of them was okay. The way she can just bust out in prayer out loud for someone she wouldn’t even know at her house. Are people calling her for prayers because they knew she would be a prayer warrior and start praying on spot. The way she cared for papa and was always checking on him and making sure he had something to drink was just so bittersweet to me to grow up watching. Even her animals were treated like royalty I mean the way she fixed her dogs bowls of food amazed me🤯. Also her game shows I swear someone should’ve got her on them things! I can still remember the nights sitting in her office laughing to my self because she would yell the answers out at the tv before the people actually playing the game even had a chance . Are her going get her mini ice creams she had hidden to come give me one and her enjoying every bite of them with a humming mhmm sound haha. And like Vallory said the dollar tree trips . Those were the best memories as kids! we loved going to dollar tree thinking granny was rich! Granny was the definition of a Strong & powerful woman. And I’ll always be blessed and thankful God allowed her in all of our lives! Wed 6:47 PM Aleah Aleah Boutte I remember granny always being there for us, always being generous and kind. ❤️ She would always wait for us to get off of the bus. Take us get icees. Bring us to the dentist then reward us by taking us get whatever we wanted from dollar tree. I remember her always bringing me into the back room to get chips and gatorade. (She knew exactly what a kid wanted)😂 She never failed to acknowledge & nurture us individually❤️ I am so grateful that She taught me Faith & I will hold onto that forever. 🙏🏼

My memory of granny was we all used to go eat out at her favorite restaurant Ryan's after church, she also had the best bubble gum always had a half a stick of gum in church tasted just like her purse 😂. Another memory when she took us in the car to dollar tree she would ask where do yall want to go today i yelled JCPenney as if that was the dollar tree not knowing that's where she would be taking us . Granny's favorite song to sing was Jesus loves the little children she would ask me how does that song go I can't remember all the words then we would start singing it all over again for the 10th time. Granny was the best she sure loved her family but most of all it was her kind giving heart . I am thankful for all the time I spent with her. Granny will forever hold that special place in our hearts.

Granny had the best sausage and cheeseburger poboys in the world. I tried to make the same exact thing and it will never be as good as hers. She was perfect in our eyes and I could not ask for a better Granny! One of my favorite memories is that we would ride the bus home from school to grannies and she’d have us some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with a big ole glass of milk to go with it! She taught all of us manners and how to not leave a dish in the sink. Which is smart because the dishes would never pile up. She’d always have “POP” and I used to love drinking them out of them big tall glass coke glasses that she loved to have. She definitely was a blessing in my life and every life she was involved in! Love yall❤️

I remember always laying down in the office eating snacks while watching wheel of fortune with her. Running off of the bus with a huge grin ready to get my hands on that poboy, then her waking us up with delicious breakfast ready on the table. Anytime I wasn’t feeling well she would do everything possible to make me feel better. When we’d do something she didn’t approve of she’d give us those squinting eyes lol Like when me and colbren would be full and still have half of a plate left we would look from the kitchen at the office to make sure she wasn’t coming then hurry and throw food in the garbage can and put a bunch of trash on top of it. Well one time she ended up catching us and gave us those eyes then we laughed about it afterwards. never take things for granted. miss you granny❤️ merry christmas, love yall

Granny never meet a stranger, she always treated anyone who came to their house like family. She loved telling anyone and everyone about God. She would fall asleep in the office and not long after her mouth would be wide open. As soon as she woke up she would just look at you and laugh. If Tammy wouldn’t answer for some reason or she was on vacation she would call me to order her things from QVC or HSN. I would get follow up calls asking if it was in and then she would say ok come at this time and Poppa won’t be here. Please make sure you take it out of the shipping box so he doesn’t notice. If for some reason I forgot I would hurry up and go put the boxes back in my vehicle so he didn’t see them. She truly got the biggest kick out of ordering and going put it in the rooms as if he wouldn’t notice they were piling up! 🤣 As many of you said you definitely didn’t go hungry while you were there for even 5 minutes. I remember one time she was cutting up all kinds of healthy things to put in her homemade hamburgers. I made a face like umm ok. She said ohhh girl you don’t know what you’re missing. So the next time I was there and she made homemade hamburgers, I either didn’t remember about the veggies in there or she had already put them in there. So I ate it and said oh my goodness this is so good. (But everything she cooked was absolutely amazing.) Once I was done her and Brandon busting out laughing and said did you know what you ate? Then I realized and just laughed. 🤣 Needless to say I didn’t turn down her homemade hamburgers ever again! There are so many other memories that were amazing with her bc she was a wonderful and caring woman. My last memory with her was her praising and worshiping even when you couldn’t physically hear what she was saying. She had the strongest faith I have ever seen. ❤️

I looked up to Granny, she was the strongest and most caring woman I knew. She took care and loved us grand babies that’s for sure. Some of our best memories was just the little things, such as her feeding us because we knew if she’d feed us it would taste 10 times better than what it already tasted like, which was a 10 out of 10! It was definitely the loving energy she put into her food and feeding us🥰 it was seriously the best! There’s countless little thing that’s she’s done for us that we were so appreciative for as kids and now that we are grown we look back at those small things and are even more grateful today to have been able to call her our Granny.❤️ Some of the most funnest times is when she’d take us to dollar tree and she’d tell us to get whatever we wanted. I remember running those isles with my cousins so excited and so happy that my Granny was “rich” enough to get us whatever we wanted.🤣 The most funniest memories I’ve had was when she was going drop off Rocky, Aleah, and I home one day, we hear her laughing hysterically wondering what was so funny, then it hit us… a silent but deadly fart🤣we tried rolling the windows down but she had locked them lol Another funny one was when I told her I ran out of toilet paper so I used her robe hanging in the bathroom to wipe my butt. I remember the words “YOU DID WHAT?!” 🤣 I had to immediately tell her it was a joke, I knew I was probably going to get a whipping with a slipper or put on my knees. Then I remember her laughing once I said it was a joke. lol We were definitely all some pranksters so I know we all stressed her out from time to time, but I know some of her greatest memories was with us❤️ I can keep going with these but I know Jennifer’s fingers will probably fall off at the end of all of our stories she has to type with our huge family.

My memory with granny, is when a bunch of us got together and surprised her for her birthday 💛. Another memory is when she cooked lunch one time she was messing with me! 🤣 She gave me a tiny cup of something to drink and very little food! 🤣🤣. I loved spending all the time that I could with her! When my mom and dad would go on vacation I would go to granny/poppa's house everyday and spend all the time with them!
