CARLOS RODEA MEDINA

Funeral services for Carlos Rodea Medina, 74, of Lamesa were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church with Father Chacko Thadathil officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Branon Funeral Home. Visitation was held Friday, August 18, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a rosary being said at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening.

Carlos passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023, in Lamesa, TX.

Carlos was born on November 2, 1948 in Encinillas San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Valente and Sotera (Rodea) Medina. He married Maria Gonzales in Lamesa, Texas on November 8, 1975, they were married 47 years.

He worked as a farmhand for many years before becoming self employed. He was a very hardworking man. He was a devoted husband and loving father. He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was always putting others before him and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He was always proud of his heritage and where he came from. He will be greatly missed.

Carlos is survived by his wife Maria Gonzales Medina of Lamesa, Tx.; children, Sonia Medina Gibson and husband Dustin, Vanessa Medina, Anna Marie Medina and Carlos Medina, Jr. and wife Rebecca Tice all of Lamesa, Tx.; two grandchildren, Carlos Medina III and Noemi Estrella Medina; sisters, Petra Medina and husband Francisco Medrano of Carson City, Michigan, Alejandra Medina and husband Francisco Medrano of Kerrville, Tx., Maria Medina Silva and husband Juan Carlos Silva of Winona, Tx., and San Juana Medina of Rio Verde, SLP, Mexico; brothers, Valentine Medina and wife Maria Medina of Dallas, Tx., Silvano Medina of Houston, Tx., Joaquin Medina and wife Silvia Andrade of San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and Guadalupe Medina and wife Sofia Medina of Cardenas, SLP, Mexico.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
