Cathy Sue Michelsen

Cathleen "Cathy" Sue Michelsen, 61, of Toledo, Ohio, was received into Jesus's arms on Saturday, December 11, 2021, in St. Vincent Mercy Hospital. Born January 6, 1960, in Toledo, Ohio to Warren and Marilyn (Emch) May. Cathy was a graduate of E.L. Bowsher High School in 1978 and attended Owens Community College.

Cathy started her work career as a secretary at State Ariel Farm Statics. Church secretary at St. Petri Lutheran Church, Cathy became an Associate in Ministry thru SELECT-Seminary program sponsored through the ELCA. Cathy became an Associate Minister at St. Petri Lutheran Church where she mentored prayer groups, she became the visitation pastor at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and also taught the Catechism classes.

Cathy and her husband were members of St. Petri Lutheran Church for 36 years. Cathy was an avid reader. She watched the TV show "Gunsmoke" and on Saturdays the "Svengoolie" show. Cathy was also an Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Marilyn May; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Francis Michelsen; sister-in-law, Louise Michelsen Eckel. Surviving is her husband of 41 years, John Michelsen; daughter, Lauren (Thatcher) Goetz; son, Eric (Amy) Michelsen; granddaughter, Suzette Kathleen Goetz; sister Dianne (Tom) Paul; brother Jeff (Anita) May; brother-in-law, Terry Eckel; sister-in-laws Dianne Evans, Nancy (Jeff) Wilbur, Robin (Duane) Beam.
