Lived 46 years

Life story

Parrish Geary peacefully entered eternal rest on December 28th, 2023, at the age of 46. Parrish was more than just a professional; he embodied the true spirit of community. His infectious laughter, unwavering optimism, and genuine dedication to uplifting others made him a beloved figure among colleagues and friends alike. Known for his empathetic listening and loving personality, Parrish possessed a remarkable ability to form deep connections with people from all walks of life.

Higher Education was a major factor in Parrish’s life. Recently, he earned his Doctorate from the University of the Pacific in Higher Education. Parrish was also an alumnus of Sacramento State where he earned a Master of Arts degree in Higher Education and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Natural Science. In addition to his academic achievements while at Sacramento State, Parrish pledged the Iota Beta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. where he spent his time as a member of the fraternity building lifelong relationships and inspiring a new generation of leaders.

Parrish’s career was centered in service to others. He most recently worked at El Camino College as the Dean of Student Services; prior to this role, he worked as a Dean and Interim Associate Vice President for the Los Rios Community College district in Sacramento, CA. In addition to his work with community colleges, Parrish was a member of the first class of the Nehemiah Emerging leaders Program (Class I), served as the College and University Liaison for Sac Metro Edge and was recognized as one of Sacramento’s 40 under 40 young professionals.

Beyond his remarkable professional achievements, Parrish was a devoted family man—a loving husband, a caring father, and a cherished brother. His role as a mentor and friend was equally profound, leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have known him closely. Parrish Geary's memory will endure through the lives he touched, the positive changes he initiated, and the warmth and compassion he shared with everyone he encountered.

In the wake of this heartbreaking loss, we gather together to mourn Parrish's passing and celebrate the beautiful life he led. May his family find solace in treasured memories, and may Parrish's spirit continue to inspire those dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others. While Parrish Geary will be deeply missed, his impact on the world will resonate for years to come.

He is survived by his loving wife, Angela, two sons, Justin and Jaden, his brothers, Diamond and Jacques, his mother, Renee, and a host of loving nephews, nieces, cousins, family, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

The Love of My Life 🕊️♾️🕊️

Parrish, You are my soulmate, my best friend, and the missing piece that completes me. You have given me the best years of my life, and I am eternally grateful that you were my person and fate brought us together. I don't know how I'm going to survive this world without you. You were the calm to my storm, the anchor that kept me grounded, the light that illuminated my path, and the reason behind my every smile. My love for you surpasses all boundaries, and the ache of your absence is almost unbearable. If I had the power, I would trade places with you in a heartbeat. You were not only an exceptional father, husband, and friend but also the embodiment of love itself. I will NEVER love anyone like I love you. You were my first true love; my heart will forever belong to you. While I patiently wait for God to answer my prayers and send you back to come get me, just as we witnessed in the beautiful "El Último Sueño de Frida y Diego" play, I will honor your memory daily. I am immensely proud of the man you were and take solace in knowing that you accomplished everything you set out to do. Until the day we meet again, my love, I promise to look after Jaden and Justin with the same love and devotion as you did. Our love transcends this life and will continue to flourish in the next. Your Wife, Angela
