Lois Jean Austin
John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection of the life he believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.”
Lois was born in Trousdale, Oklahoma.
Raised on a small farm in Pottawatomie County, with her parents Minnie Maxie (Phillips) Griffin and Finis Edwin Griffin and three brothers Olen, Orval and Orble Griffin. Family was always the central part of her life. She married Ralph Edward Austin on July 12, 1947. They raised five children together, three boys and two girls, in Carson California.
As a young woman, during WWIl, she did her bit as a Rosie the riveter while two of her brothers served in the military.
Lois was not just a strong woman, she was also an excellent chef. She spent years working as head cook, eventually running the cafeteria at the Los Angeles Harbor College before she retired.
Another one of her many skills was sewing, which is a skill she was able to pass on to her grandchildren. She was an excellent seamstress often making beautiful clothes for her family.
Above all, we will always remember her love and fun sense of humor.
