How I loved my Father!
He always loved airplanes. As a young father (2 kids), during WWII, he joined the Air Force. He was industrious and cleaned the barracks he lived in—even planting little flowers around the outside of the building. This was noticed by one of the commanding officers of the base and he was removed from the barracks into a 4-bedroom house (he invited 3 other men who were LDS to join him) and given a job as manager of the Commissary! His boss loved him and respected him so much that when it was time for his group to go overseas to fight, his commanding officer made sure he had an honorable discharge from the Air Force so that he could return to his home and family.
