Janice Lily Tapa

Lived 78 years
Whanganui
Like the great Haast Eagle, she soars high above, with piercing looks softened with love. Larger than life, hard working and fun, with just a few words, she could still make you run. The sound of shared laughter in our memories, can come to us softly, as if on a breeze. Hold on to good memories, keep each in your heart, It's the love that will bind us, so we never part. Love you always x

In Loving Memory of Janice Lily Tapa (née Edwards)

It is with heavy hearts that we announced the passing of Janice Lily Tapa, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, on 21st July 2023 in Whanganui.

Born on the 1st of January 1945, in Taumarunui, Janice's journey through life was marked by her unwavering strength, her outspoken nature, and her boundless love for her family.

Janice leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by her devoted husband, Pat Tapa (affectionately known as Popa), and her loving children: Charmaine and her partner Alan, Sharlene and her husband Brett, and Patrick and his wife Liz. She was a pillar of strength and love for her grandchildren, Michael, Mahalia, Ashlee, Sarah, and Te Marama, and she delighted in the joys of her great-grandchildren, Khloe, Aurora, Ezra, Sephora, Jrayko, and Fox.

Janice's passion for life was evident in the love she had for her family and her cherished late dog, Chuey. She was a beacon of strength, always speaking her mind and standing firm in her convictions. Janice's presence brought warmth, guidance, and an unbreakable sense of family unity that will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
