Life story

**Kerry "Bowtie" Bowen: A Life of Service, Craftsmanship, and Joy**

Kerry “Bowtie” Bowen was born in 1947 in the small town of Delcambre, Louisiana. Known for his charismatic personality and unwavering work ethic, Kerry left an indelible mark on everyone he met.

At the age of 18, Kerry enlisted in the Navy in 1965, where he served honorably during the Vietnam War. After his military service, he pursued higher education at Louisiana State University (LSU), graduating in the top 5% of his class with a degree in aeronautical engineering. Despite being offered a prestigious position at NASA, Kerry chose a different path that aligned more closely with his passions and values.

Kerry dedicated his professional life to the construction industry, building over 160 houses throughout Louisiana. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were unmatched, with his most expensive project valued at over $6.5 million. His reputation for quality and reliability made him a respected figure in the community until his retirement in 2013. Even then, Kerry continued to lend his expertise through side jobs, demonstrating his lifelong commitment to his trade.

Beyond his professional achievements, Kerry was a man of many passions. He loved to hunt, dance, and enjoy the camaraderie of his friends at the local bar. His quick wit and sarcastic humor brought joy and laughter to those around him. Kerry’s family was the center of his world, and he cherished every moment spent with his children and his beloved dog, Snooks.

Kerry “Bowtie” Bowen’s legacy is one of dedication, love, and a zest for life. His contributions to his community, his unwavering support for his family, and his infectious spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
