Christian Blake Vollmer
Oh Precious Memories
Blake only got to see 23 years on this side of life, but in those extremely short 23 years, he lived lifetimes more than so many people. When Mom was pregnant with Blake and Justis she had a really rough pregnancy and July 22nd one healthy baby boy made an appearance. His first two years tricked everyone. He spent that time being calm and sweet, mostly sleeping. We should’ve known that those two years were the calm before the storm. Blake turned two and it was almost like his soul woke up and he never stopped moving again. Blake was obsessive compulsive from birth so if you knew him later in life, it wasn’t just a show. “No”was not in Blakes vocabulary and if you tried to say no, he would tell you that you’re a liar because you promised… no one ever promised. Blake found Jesus one Saturday morning at a park thanks to a Saturday bible study, and just like that Blake became the most dedicated Christian telling everyone what our sins were. Even though his obsessiveness meant Blake took a lot of things over board; we did our best to encourage his growth in faith. It was a terrible day if the Bible study didn’t meet for any reason because then you just heard for the next week how “everyone is a sinner because Jesus wants us to love him and they can’t choose when it’s a good time to love him”. As Blake grew so did his love for life and that road didn’t always lead a straight path, but he always had Jesus in his heart. In 23 years he experienced more than some 80 year olds and he never met a stranger in his life. Everyone was his friend and he had to learn the hard lesson that your enemies will always take advantage of a good heart. Blake loved his family and if you were lucky enough to be considered his family there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for you. While discovering himself and learning all the lessons life offers, he fell in love with a vibrant, charismatic, but more importantly a woman that challenged him to his core. They started doing life together, learning the easy and hard lessons, challenging each other’s mindset and independence, growing together and building a bond that is unbreakable. They had two beautiful little girls together and even though Blake left us the day before Blakelee made her appearance, the essence of his soul remained here on earth. Nialah and Blakelee were created from a love bigger than anything I’ve seen before and that love is carried on through them. Blake will always be a part of our lives and he lives on through the memories and love in each of us. 100 years with him wouldn’t have been enough and if love could’ve saved him, he would’ve lived forever. Blake is watching over and I know he is proud of what he sees and I know he holds those little girls hands each chance he gets because the love for his daughters was something he always put first. Blake left behind a tremendous amount of people that adored him and I hope with each day that passes they are able to release the pain through the love he shared. In the most loving memory long live Blake.
