On Sunday 11th of February 2024 Shane was tragically taken in a microlight accident in Colac West. Shane and his father Paul always had a passion for flying and many years ago they decided to take up the hobby and completed all relevant training in flying microlights. They purchased their very own microlight and would spend endless hours each weekend continuing to learn the art of flying the aircraft but unfortunately didn’t master that final flight.
Shane loved all things Ford, was a passionate truck driver for over 16 years and travelled Australia wide for various companies with his dream in life to eventually drive his own truck.
His career started when he worked at Wheadon’s Transport as a truck tyre fitter where he always had the urge to test drive each truck after every job and self-taught himself on how to drive a B-Double. This is where Shane’s obsession for truck driving began. He worked for many companies including Lane Transport in Kalani, McKays in Colac, Heytesbury Stockfeeds, Booths, BBH and finishing his passionate truck career with Layanda. Shane was renowned for his hard work ethic whilst always taking pride in how his truck would look, making sure it was always spotless.
Shane enjoyed anything outdoors and adventurous including the annual Bathurst trip with the boys, also crossing the Simpson Desert was a trip Shane accomplished many time’s with his dad, Paul.
