Angel was my grandson, but he was so much more than that. His Welo and I raised him from the time he was barely two years old. We loved him, protected him, watched him grow, and shared a lifetime of memories with him. He was not only our grandson—he was our son. Being his wela and helping raise him was one of the greatest blessings of my life.
Angel had a beautiful smile that could light up a room. He was always laughing, always talking, and often on the phone with his friends. He had a way of enjoying life’s simple moments and creating memories without realizing how precious those moments would become.
Angel also loved to sing, especially in the shower—those were his own private concerts. I can still imagine him singing away, completely in his own world. Those are the memories a wela holds onto forever.
He loved to look good and dress well. Angel took pride in his appearance and especially loved his gym shoes—particularly the expensive ones! If he had on a fresh outfit, you could almost guarantee he would take pictures of himself. He loved showing off his fit and capturing the moment. Those pictures are now more than photographs to me; they are pieces of my son that I will treasure for the rest of my life.
Angel was young, full of life, and surrounded by friends, laughter, music, dreams, and so much more life ahead of him.
He shared a very special bond with his Welo. The love between them was truly special, and that connection will always remain a beautiful part of Angel’s story and a cherished memory in our family.
Then, in January 2026, our lives changed forever. Angel was taken from us far too soon and in a way no family should ever have to experience. He deserved more time—more birthdays, more laughter, more songs in the shower, more phone calls with his friends, more fresh outfits and new gym shoes, more pictures, and more life.
Losing Angel left an emptiness that words can never truly explain. Although I can no longer hear his voice, see his beautiful smile, or watch him walk through the door, my love for him did not die with him.
I will continue to say his name. I will continue to tell his story. I will continue to look at his pictures and remember the young man behind that smile. I will carry every memory of him with me for the rest of my life.
Angel will always be my baby boy.
His life was far too short, but his love will last forever.
Until I see you again, my Angel.
Wela loves you more than words could ever say.
You are forever in my heart, forever in my memories, and forever a part of me. ❤️🕊️
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever my Angel.
