Gabriel Samson Lee Fenton
Gabriel Samson Lee Fenton, better known as Gage. He was a loving father, son, brother, and uncle. Forever missed, and memories always cherished. If you're here visiting today, we would love for you to leave a message or photo under the tribute wall.
Who is Gage Fenton? I find myself asking that question over and over in my head. There is no way I can put how incredible he is into words, but I will try.
To me, Gage was unlike any other person I’ve ever came to know. Gage was someone that you noticed when he walked into a room, if you were having a bad day, he would find a way to make you laugh and put a smile on your face. I remember when he told me a quote that said “a wise man once said that if you give a piece of yourself to every person you meet, sooner or later you’ll build an amazing puzzle”. You see, today we are that puzzle, each one of were blessed with a piece of gage that he left to each of us individually. That’s just the kinda guy he is. The kindness he carries within him is just something that can’t be taught.
As I think back of his life in the past, I can remember the time we would stoped the car at a red light for him to talk to an shelterless person on the street who was struggling to find their way in life. He talked with than man for over an hour. You see, as we all know, Gage is someone who would help those struggling and in need of help. Even if it’s just giving crackers or water, advice, or just being there when you didn’t have anyone else.. he always had time, and would always give to the less fortunate. He is the definition of the shirt of your back kinda person, & I mean who truly would stretch the shirt out if it couldn’t fit you, after taking it off his own back.
I speak to you today knowing deep in my heart that he is smiling down on us. Everyone here today has came to celebrate the life of a - one of a kind - human being. We each have a story of our own about who gage fenton is to us. I hope today we can all share the stories and happy times that Gage has blessed us with.
Even though Gage has left us on this world, doesn’t mean his dreams, goals, and accomplishments have, including all of the people he had dedicated his life to help. Gage was a man of many dreams, in fact, he would always have a new idea or a new plan that in some way would benefit someone else. One of the dreams Gage talked about was being able to set up a foundation to help men struggling with mental health issues, that foundation would help provide resources for men who suffered from DV, custody, and all the way through to substance abuse. I remember saying to him that starting a foundation like that might not be financially beneficial, well, Gage didn’t care about financial gain at all, he said to me and I quote “even if I’m able to help just one person, that is enough for me”.
I want everyone to take a look around the room. Gage loved each and every one of you. If he were standing here now I know he would want to see a smile on everyone’s face even though it’s painful to know that the world has lost someone so precious, it really is hard to imagine life without him. But if there was one thing I’ve learned from a Gage in the many years I’ve know him is to always keep my head up, communicate if I’m upset, stay motivated, keep friends close & enemies closer, and to always cherish the time spent with family and friends. I’m just one small piece of the amazing puzzle he built.
So, in closing. I want to ask you, who is Gage Fenton to you?
