Sun Yo Chong Turner
September 17, 1955 - January 5, 2023
Columbus, Georgia - Sun Turner passed peacefully from this world on January 5th, 2023, surrounded by her loving husband and children.
She is survived by Bradford Turner (husband) of Columbus, Georgia; Sunny Leah Letson (daughter) of Pine Mountain, Georgia; Eric Turner (son) of Atlanta, Georgia; Layla Turner (granddaughter) of Atlanta, Georgia; Son-in-Law Cody Letson; and daughter-in-law Rachel Turner.
In addition, she leaves behind numerous siblings, nieces, and nephews, in her native South Korea.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother of Seoul, South Korea.
Mrs. Turner arrived in the United States as a young bride and studied endlessly to achieve naturalization and an advanced command of the English language.
She bravely and lovingly raised and nurtured her family while living thousands of miles from her homeland. Those in the local community welcomed her and were kind to her. She was often hailed for both her loving nature and her ability to make the greatest and most authentic Korean cuisine that those lucky enough to try had ever tried.
A lifelong learner and scholar, Mrs. Turner earned a college education in South Korea and dedicated herself to the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom. Her lessons were lovingly received by her family, and the warmth of her memory will remain.
In lieu of flowers or donations, the family asks that readers of this obituary tell their families that they love them and that they move through this world in kindness.
