Peggy Haagensen Fravel
Born July 5, 1948, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Daniel and Margaret Haagensen (predeceased). Relocated to Richmond, Virginia in early 1970’s.
She taught dance at Holiday Dance Studio, while her sister taught around the corner at Continental Dance Studio. She was very proud of her time working at Caston studio while she also continued to teach dance. She married into the Fravel family in 1976, which was such an important time of her life. Getting married, also gaining two sons Danny and David. Then Melinda was born. Peggy raised Danny, David and Melinda predominantly on her own. Worked whatever jobs she needed and went to school at night. Coached their soccer teams, camping trips, time at the beach, playing Skip Bo and spending time with her family. She really loved her time as a school bus driver. She connected with so many anywhere she went. She later used her degree to work in print centers and retired at Pitney Bowes. Always being the highest producer, the most dependable and just a joy to work with.
Even though her retirement was not exactly as pictured, she shared so much valuable time with her daughter, friends and family. She recently was able to spend time at the beach with some of her favorite humans, look upon the sea and just take it all in as one of her final wishes. Her final wish was to pass to the next world in her own home, with her daughter, sister, niece and close friends. Her Grand pup Penny and her cat Leyla were by her side to the end, as we all were that love her.
Peggy is survived by her beloved daughter Melinda Fravel, sister Elizabeth Suhr, sons Dan Fravel (wife Tammy), Dave Fravel, three Grandchildren, multiple Nieces, Cyndi, Shanna, Leya, Nephew Jimmy, multiple great nieces, great great nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
The family will be planning a grand celebration of life in early spring. In the meantime, please lift Peggy and her loved ones in prayer, love and support.
