It is difficult to put into words how I feel at the loss of my brother and knowing that, while life goes on for me in Australia, I can no longer imagine that he is travelling around with Patty, enjoying time with family and friends and grandchildren. I have to imagine Canada without my brother now, which doesn't make sense to me.
I was 6 years old when Lynne went to university. It was a sad day for his little sister. I remember how excited mum, dad and I were to pick him up at the airport for Christmas and summer holidays. We were so proud of him. I always smile when I remember the time he was the last person to disembark the plane from Thunder Bay and came up the escalator backwards with a wineskin full of vodka and orange juice, an excessively long red stocking hat and a red beard and mustache. He was very 'happy' that day. Hah.
When I was at university, he protected me from afar, warning me about drugs, making Patty have the 'talk' with me about birth control. He was very patient with his little sister, although I was occasionally a bit of a troublemaker and sometimes annoying.
I wish we could have spent more of our lives on the same continent, but when we periodically got together, it was like we were never apart, and so much fun.
I'm so glad we were able to see him late last year, but to think that I will get no more hugs, FaceTime chats or photos with his famous sneaky two-finger rabbit ears standing beside Lynne, is so hard to accept. Jeff, Jen, Josh, Bec, Hunter and I have many great memories of Lynne over the years, and that is what we cling to at these times. And maybe I will just continue to imagine him in Canada, somewhere, walking in a forest, identifying a bug or a mushroom or sitting by a lake and enjoying a sunset.
Everyone says this when a loved one dies, but Lynne truly was an exceptional person and the best brother a girl ever had.
We all look forward to the photos and videos from the day of the celebration of his life. We wish we could be there on the day, but we will be there in spirit.
Love you guys,
Gayle

Uncle Lynn was family long before I ever realized we weren’t related by blood. But that never mattered — not for a second. He loved me, my brother, and my sister as if we were his own, with endless kindness, patience, and understanding.
He was the person I called when my dad wasn’t available — our other dad. He was my dad’s best friend, and someone I never had to worry about being judged by. I always knew he would be there if I needed him.
Uncle Lynn showed up for everything. Every major milestone, every small gathering, every celebration — he was there. In fact, if Uncle Lynn wasn’t there, that’s when I’d start to worry. His presence brought comfort and stability to all of us.
Some of my favorite memories are the traditions we shared: Christmas Eve at their house, time spent out at camp, and listening to the stories of his and my dad’s adventures — the silly moments, the scary accidents, and all the laughter in between.
Growing up, I was lucky enough to have two sets of parents who loved and supported me unconditionally: Henry and Laura, and Patty and Lynn. That kind of love is rare, and I will always be grateful for it.
I miss Uncle Lynn often and think about the countless moments we shared from the very first day of my life. I will always carry his love, his kindness, and his presence with me.

Kelly:
These words are in remembrance of our dear friend ( your dad) Lynne Sevean. We will never forget the memories of time spent together before kids, our camping experiences, and Friday night dinners out after a long hard week of work ( we miss those).
We will also never forget the family times we shared together, the birth of our children, the Christmas get togethers, Christmas Eve dinners, New Year’s Eve parties, BBQs and time at camp.
So many good memories!
We have had years of laughter, tears and moments of pure joy!
You were a friend we could count on, a friend who was always willing to help, a friend who was there when we needed him most ( for example when Henry got hit by a tree at camp and needed emergency services).
You are sorely missed!
May heaven receive you with open arms.
Your friends,
Laura & Henry Kokocinski
